Phasmophobia’s Cursed Hollow event was announced for April 17, 2025, so the original “arrive next week” timing is no longer current. Kinetic Games described a limited-time event built around identifying ghosts, completing objectives and finding totems that could alter investigations. The studio has not confirmed a 2026 return in the available official-domain results, so treat any claim that it is coming back as unconfirmed.
What Cursed Hollow was
Kinetic Games announced Cursed Hollow as its first Phasmophobia event of 2025, with a planned start date of April 17. The announcement said the exact release timing would be shared through the studio’s social channels and Discord. Read the official announcement.
The event’s play loop combined regular investigation tasks with a new hunt for Forest Spirit Minion totems. Players were asked to identify ghosts, complete objectives and discover totems scattered across the event maps. Activating a totem could affect the Forest Spirit haunting the team; the effects might help players or make the investigation more challenging.

The announcement named nine maps for Cursed Hollow and said the active event maps would rotate daily:

How event goals and rewards worked
Kinetic Games said it was separating community-event progress into community goals and personal goals. Personal goals would progress alongside the shared community goals, but would be unique to each player. Completing a personal goal would unlock an ID card upgrade and upgrade the event trophy.
The event trophy could be upgraded up to three times. The announcement also said that players who missed a year’s goal could continue progress during the next year’s corresponding event. Once a community goal was reached, rewards would auto-claim when a player logged in. Players still had to log in during the event window to receive rewards.

Why the event was shorter than earlier events
The studio said Cursed Hollow was expected to run for roughly three weeks, rather than a month, as part of a decision to reduce the duration of community events based on player feedback. Other announced changes included daily map rotation, separate community and personal rewards, auto-claiming, and gameplay modifiers triggered by interacting with the totems. Exact timing details were deferred to the event patch notes.

No 2026 return is confirmed by the available official-domain results. A search that returned no distinct 2026 announcement does not prove that no announcement exists; it does mean players should look for confirmation from Kinetic Games before treating a 2026 return or schedule as fact.
