Use the official Pixelmon command list for the exact Minecraft and Pixelmon version installed on your server, then grant individual permission nodes instead of giving staff blanket operator status. Core commands cover Pokémon, parties, battles, spawning, progression, and rewards; commands from Trainer Commands, Even More Pixelmon Commands, or Pixelmon Extras are separate and must be checked against that sidemod’s version and configuration.
Godlike.Host offers modded Minecraft server hosting with one-click modpacks, a built-in mod installer and up to three free backups a day.
Start with the right command source
The Pixelmon Wiki’s Commands page describes itself as “This is a list of commands added by Pixelmon.” Treat that page as the base reference, not every command list found in a forum post. Pixelmon syntax and permissions can change between Minecraft and Pixelmon releases, and a command copied from a different release may be missing, renamed, or accept different arguments.

Identify the installed versions
- Check the Minecraft version used by the server.
- Check the installed Pixelmon build and whether the server uses a compatible loader or hybrid platform.
- Check every sidemod separately. Trainer Commands, Even More Pixelmon Commands (EMPC), and Pixelmon Extras do not belong to the base Pixelmon command set.
- Test syntax from the command page in a private staff area before granting access to players.
Use permissions instead of operator status
Pixelmon documents command-specific permission nodes such as pixelmon.command.pokegive and pixelmon.command.pokeheal. A permissions plugin can grant or negate those nodes, letting you give a moderator one function without exposing every administrative command. Hybrid server software may remap the node prefix: a node documented with pixelmon might need to be tested as minecraft on that particular setup. That is a compatibility check, not a universal replacement.
Player and party administration
These commands alter a player’s party, progression, or Pokémon inventory. Give them only to staff who understand the consequences, especially commands that remove or reset Pokémon.

| Command | Purpose and syntax | Permission guidance |
|---|---|---|
/breed <player> <slot 1> <slot 2> |
Breeds Pokémon from two party slots for the named player. | Check the installed command page for the exact node. |
/catchingcharm |
Handles the catching-charm item or effect. | Check the installed command page. |
/eggsteps |
Checks or manipulates egg-step progress according to the installed version. | Check the installed command page. |
/expcharm |
Handles the experience-charm item or effect. | Check the installed command page. |
/pokeheal |
Heals a player’s party. | pixelmon.command.pokeheal. Healing another player additionally uses pixelmon.command.admin.healother. |
/pokefaint |
Faints a Pokémon or party according to the command’s target syntax. | pixelmon.command.pokefaint.other permits targeting another player. |
/pokegive |
Gives a specified Pokémon to a player. | pixelmon.command.pokegive. |
/pokekill |
Removes or kills a Pokémon selected by the command. | Check the installed command page; treat as destructive. |
/pokereset |
Resets a Pokémon or related data. | Check the installed command page; reserve for senior staff and backups. |
/pokeretrieve |
Retrieves a Pokémon from the applicable storage or world state. | Check the installed command page. |
/pokesee |
Views Pokémon data for inspection or moderation. | Check the installed command page and whether the installed build allows another-player targets. |
/pokesell |
Sells a Pokémon through the server’s configured economy behavior. | Check the installed command page and economy configuration. |
/poketake |
Takes a Pokémon from a player or applicable storage. | Check the installed command page; treat as destructive. |
/setparty |
Sets or replaces a player’s party arrangement. | Check the installed command page. |
/starter |
Assigns or manages a starter Pokémon. | Check the installed command page and starter configuration. |
Do not assume that a node allowing a player to use a command also permits targeting someone else. Pixelmon explicitly separates several cross-player operations into administrative nodes, so test both cases with a non-operator account.
Battles and staff control
| Command | What it does | Important limitation |
|---|---|---|
/battlelog [player] |
Displays battle log information, optionally for a player. | Exact visibility and target behavior depend on the installed version. |
/disablebattle |
Disables battle interaction for the applicable player or context. | Confirm whether the command affects one player, an area, or a broader server setting. |
/endbattle |
Ends an active battle. | pixelmon.command.admin.endbattle permits targeting other players; ordinary use may be limited to the sender’s battle. |
/freeze |
Freezes a player or battle-related state. | Use only as a temporary moderation action and verify how to reverse it in your build. |
/spectate |
Lets an authorized user spectate a battle or player. | Check the installed syntax and privacy expectations for your server. |
Spawning and world tools
| Command | Use | Permission |
|---|---|---|
/checkspawns |
Checks which Pokémon can spawn in the current context. | Check the installed command page. |
/pokespawn |
Spawns a specified Pokémon. | pixelmon.command.pokespawn. |
/setraid |
Creates or configures a raid encounter. | pixelmon.command.setraid. |
/statuespawn |
Spawns a Pokémon statue or statue-related object. | Check the installed command page. |
/warpplate set <x> <y> <z> |
Sets the destination coordinates for a warp plate. | Check the installed command page; restrict coordinate editing to builders or senior staff. |
Use /pokespawn and /setraid in a controlled area first. A mistyped species, form, level, or coordinate can create an encounter that is difficult to remove or disrupt a public event.

How to grant a command without making a player an operator
- Choose the smallest job role. For example, a helper who only heals players should not receive spawning, Pokémon-removal, or economy permissions.
- Grant the documented node. Use the exact node, such as
pixelmon.command.pokeheal, rather than a broad wildcard. Add an administrative cross-player node only when the role requires it. - Test as the real role. Log in with a test account that is not an operator. Confirm the command works for the sender, then test an authorized other-player target if applicable.
- Test a denied operation. Verify that the same account cannot run a destructive command or target a player outside its role.
- Check hybrid-prefix behavior. If the documented
pixelmon.*node does not work, test the equivalent prefix required by the hybrid platform, such asminecraft.*, only after confirming that platform’s mapping. - Record the change. Keep the role name, node, date, staff member, and reason in your server’s permission or moderation log.
- Revoke temporary access. Event, build, and compensation permissions should expire when the task ends.
Permission negation is useful for exceptions. A role can inherit general staff access while explicitly denying a dangerous node, but always test the resulting effective permissions because inheritance order varies by permissions plugin.
Sidemod commands: keep their permissions and syntax separate
Trainer Commands
Trainer Commands is a server-side sidemod that lets NPCs and statues execute Pixelmon or Minecraft commands when players interact with them or when battle events occur. Its main administration command is:
/tedit add <win|loss|battle_start|forfeit|interact> <command> [flag]
/tedit removeremoves the first matching action./tedit listdisplays configured action lists./tedit reloadreloads the configuration.-eexecutes as the NPC or statue.-pexecutes as the player.-cexecutes from the console and is the default.
The permission node is trainercommands.command.tedit. Because an event can run a command automatically, protect this node more carefully than a command a moderator types once. Review every configured action after editing and reload only when the configuration is valid.

Even More Pixelmon Commands
EMPC is configurable, and its documentation warns that arguments can be hidden or required depending on permissions and configuration. Run /empc reload after configuration changes. Do not copy an EMPC command into a base Pixelmon guide or permission role without labeling it as EMPC and checking the installed release.
Pixelmon Extras
Pixelmon Extras documents additional commands including /pokeevolve, /pokegivetype, /pokerandom, /pokereset, /pokerestart, /pokeretrieve, /pokesee, /pokesell, /pokespawncoords, /poketake, /poketest, /redeemfossil, /starter, /tms, /tradesim, /wiki, and /xpmod. It uses separate pixelextras.command.* permissions and bypass nodes for operations such as forceful trade simulation or selling protected Pokémon.
Several names overlap with base Pixelmon commands. The same-looking command can therefore have different behavior or permissions depending on which mod registers it. Check the server’s command output and the sidemod documentation before granting access.

- Skins! We have biome settlers, city folk, town folk, and more!
- The Nether and all its inhabitants. Fight Ghasts and make friends with Pigmen
- Cross platform play for up to five players between Pocket Edition and Windows 10
- Revamped touch controls, controller support, and a controller mapping screen
- Enhanced Weather effects! Accumulating snow and more
Destructive-command safeguards
- Limit
/pokekill,/pokereset,/poketake, forceful trade operations, and protected-Pokémon selling bypasses to senior staff. - Require a player name and Pokémon identifier to be confirmed in staff chat before removal or reset.
- Back up player data before bulk corrections or migration work.
- Use a test world for
/setraid,/pokespawn, statues, and warp-plate edits. - Audit
/givemoney, reward commands, and event automation. - Never treat an unknown command error as evidence that a permission node is wrong; first verify that the relevant mod is installed and loaded.
Troubleshooting by symptom
“Unknown command”
Confirm that the command belongs to the installed Pixelmon build or sidemod. Check spelling, loader compatibility, and whether another mod has registered a different command with a similar name.
“You do not have permission”
Check the exact node, role inheritance, and negated nodes. On hybrid software, verify whether the platform remaps the pixelmon prefix. Retest while logged out and back in if the permissions plugin caches sessions.
The command works for the sender but not another player
Look for a separate administrative node. Pixelmon specifically documents pixelmon.command.admin.endbattle, pixelmon.command.pokefaint.other, and pixelmon.command.admin.healother for cross-player operations.
Best Value
- Play and share with friends on console, mobile and Windows 10
- discover community creations in the new in-game store
- access new mini games and game modes through servers
Arguments are rejected
Use the syntax for the installed version, including angle-bracket values and optional arguments. EMPC can hide or require arguments based on configuration and permissions, so inspect its configured command definition rather than relying on a base Pixelmon example.
An automated NPC or statue action does nothing
Check the Trainer Commands event name, execution flag, command spelling, and whether the command should run as console, player, or entity. Run /tedit list, correct the action, then use /tedit reload.
Administrator’s quick checklist
- Version identified for Minecraft, Pixelmon, and every sidemod.
- Official Pixelmon syntax checked before copying a command.
- Least-privilege node granted instead of operator status.
- Cross-player admin nodes added only where required.
- Hybrid prefix tested when documented nodes fail.
- Destructive commands restricted and logged.
- Trainer Commands, EMPC, and Pixelmon Extras clearly labeled in staff documentation.
- Non-operator test account verified for both allowed and denied actions.
A reliable Pixelmon command policy is therefore less about memorizing every slash command than about matching each command to the installed version, its narrow permission node, its target scope, and its potential to alter player data.
