Planet Zoo has 38 Global Achievements on Steam. The checklist below separates Steam achievements from Console Edition trophies, identifies the required game mode beside each task, and preserves the exact cumulative targets that are easiest to miss: 73 births, 30 animals above 75% welfare in one habitat, 10 km of barrier, 1 km of tracked ride, and more than 90% in every genetic category. How to use this checklist
Start by selecting your platform. Steam’s Planet Zoo page displays 38 Global Achievements. PlayStation’s Planet Zoo listing covers the PS5 Console Edition, which has its own trophy list and four modes: Career, Franchise, Challenge and Sandbox. The game launched on PC on November 5, 2019, and the available editions and add-ons can change, so edition ownership should be checked in the storefront you use.

- Keep the Steam list open while playing on PC; achievement progress is tracked by Steam’s displayed descriptions.
- On console, open the current Planet Zoo Console Edition trophy list and use the wording shown there. Frontier’s Console Edition list is separately titled, and the all-trophies award is called Chief Curator.
- For cumulative goals, keep one save dedicated to the requirement. Switching zoos can make totals harder to audit.
- When a requirement names a mode, do the action in that mode. A sandbox result does not automatically satisfy a Franchise-only description.
Steam achievement checklist: introductory actions
These are the quick setup and first-session achievements listed by Steam. Complete them early so later career or Franchise work is not blocked by a missing basic action.

- Adopt an animal. Complete an adoption through the animal market or the relevant zoo interface.
- Train a staff member. Select a staff member, open the training controls and purchase training.
- Earn a five-star Animal Rating. Improve animal welfare, habitat quality and care until the zoo’s Animal Rating reaches five stars.
- Earn your first animal release. Release a suitable animal to the wild from a zoo that meets the release conditions.
- Have your first animal birth. Provide compatible animals with appropriate welfare and breeding conditions, then wait for a birth.
- Place 25 different enrichment items. The count is for different enrichment items, not 25 copies of one item.
- Enable all enrichment items in an exhibit. Supply every enrichment option available for the animals in that exhibit and confirm that each is enabled.
Career medals and standards
Career progress is split into medal standards. Steam lists bronze, silver and gold Career awards, then repeats the all-career completion standards on Hard difficulty. Treat each tier as a separate target: completing a level at bronze does not grant its gold result.

Use the scenario objective panel rather than relying on the zoo’s general rating. Career medals can require a combination of finance, welfare, education and guest objectives, and the standard is evaluated when the scenario records completion.
Franchise mode, research and education
Several achievements explicitly require Franchise mode. Create or load a Franchise zoo before attempting these tasks; a visually identical action in Sandbox or Challenge mode will not meet a Franchise-only requirement.

- Open a Franchise zoo. Establish your first zoo in Franchise mode.
- Complete the research on one animal in Franchise mode. Assign a mechanic to research the species and wait until that species’ research is complete.
- Earn a five-star Education Rating in a Franchise zoo. Build and staff an education network, then raise the Franchise zoo’s Education Rating to five stars.
- Open 25 Franchise zoos. The threshold is 25 separate Franchise zoos, not 25 habitats or 25 species in one location.
- Take part in a community challenge. Join a live community challenge and perform the qualifying contribution shown by the challenge interface.
Community challenges and Steam unlock percentages are live platform features. An unlock percentage is a snapshot of players who have earned an achievement, not a difficulty score or a reliable time estimate; if you compare percentages, note the date displayed by Steam.
Animal care, training, breeding and release
Plan breeding and release goals around welfare first. Keep an eye on age, fertility, species compatibility and conservation status before committing an animal to a target.

- Breed an albino. Produce an albino animal through breeding; the achievement is about the offspring’s appearance, not a manually changed colour variant.
- Breed a juvenile lion in a zoo with at least 10 species. The zoo must contain at least 10 species when the juvenile lion is bred.
- Breed two different elephant breeds. Produce offspring from two different elephant breeds as specified by the in-game description.
- Have 73 baby animals born. This is an exact cumulative threshold. Track births across the saves and zoos counted by the Steam list, and keep records if you move between Franchise zoos.
- Release 20 critically endangered animals. Release 20 animals whose conservation status is critically endangered; releasing 20 animals of a less threatened status does not substitute.
- Exceed 90% in all genetic categories. The requirement is more than 90% in every genetic category, not an average above 90%. Inspect each category before confirming the qualifying animal.
- Complete the Zoopedia. Fill every required Zoopedia entry shown in the current game interface.
Habitat welfare and keeper management
- Hold 30 animals in one habitat with welfare above 75%. All 30 animals must be in the same habitat, and the welfare condition is above 75%. Monitor overcrowding, disease, cleanliness and social needs so one animal falling below the threshold does not invalidate the check.
- Assign three Keepers separate work zones. Give three Keepers separate work zones. The listed eligible modes are Sandbox, Franchise or Challenge; use one of those modes rather than Career.
For the 30-animal target, pause the game while checking the habitat overview. Welfare can change as animals age, reproduce or become ill, so verify the count and percentage at the same time.
Scenario-specific and special requirements
- Adopt the retiring Indian Elephants in Scenario 7. This requirement points to Scenario 7 specifically. Follow that scenario’s availability and adoption objective rather than trying to satisfy it with Indian Elephants in another zoo.
Scenario, Career and Franchise objectives are not interchangeable. If an achievement names a scenario, use the named scenario; if it names Franchise, use a Franchise zoo.

Construction, transport and finance totals

Long construction goals are easiest in a dedicated sandbox-style build, but confirm the achievement description before changing modes. The three-Keeper work-zone requirement, for example, explicitly allows Sandbox, Franchise or Challenge, while the research and education goals explicitly name Franchise.

Zoo geography: biomes, continents and multiple locations
- Open a zoo in every biome. Use the location selector and record each biome as you establish a zoo.
- Open a zoo on every continent. A biome list and a continent list are separate checks; completing one does not automatically complete the other.
Keep a simple two-column record of biome and continent. A location can satisfy one entry in each list, but you should verify the map labels because the achievement text treats the categories separately.

Console Edition trophy checklist
Console Edition trophies are not a drop-in copy of the Steam list. Frontier’s official Console Edition trophy result identifies a separate list, and the PlayStation listing describes Career, Franchise, Challenge and Sandbox modes. The all-trophies PlayStation award is Chief Curator, and Console Edition Career entries refer to completing all original Career levels.

Efficient completion route
- Finish the introductory actions. Create the avatar, place it on the globe, adopt an animal, train a staff member and begin improving Animal Rating.
- Use Career for medal progression. Work through bronze objectives first, then replay for silver and gold. Reserve a separate pass for Hard standards.
- Start one organized Franchise zoo. Use it for animal research, five-star Education Rating, births, breeding, releases and the 25-zoo expansion.
- Build a dedicated welfare habitat. Aim for 30 animals while keeping every animal above 75% welfare, and monitor the habitat before allowing births to create overcrowding.
- Complete cumulative construction in a controlled save. Add barrier and tracked ride sections while recording measured totals, and repay loans deliberately until the $50,000 requirement is met.
- Finish special and map tasks. Handle Scenario 7’s retiring Indian Elephants, complete the Zoopedia, visit every biome and continent, and check the elephant, lion, albino and genetic targets.
- Verify the platform list. Steam should show all 38 Global Achievements unlocked. On console, use the current Console Edition trophy page and confirm the Chief Curator award.
Common mistakes and recovery
- Using the wrong mode: repeat Franchise-only research or education actions in Franchise; repeat the three-Keeper task in Sandbox, Franchise or Challenge.
- Counting the wrong animals: the 30-animal goal requires one habitat and welfare above 75% for the animals being counted.
- Stopping at 90%: the genetic requirement says more than 90% in every category.
- Confusing copies with variety: “25 different enrichment items” requires 25 distinct item types.
- Releasing the wrong conservation status: the release total is 20 critically endangered animals.
- Assuming platform parity: Steam’s 38-achievement total and descriptions are evidence for the PC list only. Console Edition trophies must be checked separately.
- Leaving cumulative work undocumented: record births, releases, zoos, biome locations, continent locations, barrier length and ride length as you progress.
