Plants vs Brainrots Story Mode adds structured Brainrot invasions to the game’s garden-defense loop: prepare plants, start a battle, and protect the wheelbarrows from attackers. The October 2025 Storyline Update documented 25 missions across five enemy storylines, but later guides describe additional stages, so 25 should not be treated as the confirmed current mission cap.

What is Story Mode in Plants vs Brainrots?

Plants & Brainrots, listed on Roblox by Splitting Point – PVB, is built around buying and planting seeds, having plants fight Brainrots, and earning money from Brainrots. The developer’s listing sums up the core loop as: “Your plants fight brainrots for you!” Story Mode adds a sequence of missions to that loop, turning the garden into a defense line against organized invasions.

The mode is also described as Brainrot Invasion. Instead of focusing only on growing a garden and earning money, a mission asks you to prepare for an attack and keep your defenses—and the wheelbarrows behind them—intact.

How a Story Mode invasion works

Guides from Beebom and Pocket Tactics describe invasions as waves of Brainrots moving toward wheelbarrows at the end of the garden. In those accounts, plants have health and can be damaged; a damaged plant may disappear temporarily. If a Brainrot destroys a wheelbarrow, the mission fails. Clearing waves earns rewards.

Beebom’s January 5, 2026 guide describes an “Incoming” warning followed by a “Battle” button when the invasion timer reaches zero. Pocket Tactics’ November 14, 2025 guide also describes a recurring timer and recommends setting up plants before battle. These are dated guide descriptions, not a guarantee that the live interface or schedule is unchanged.

Before starting a battle

  • Arrange your plants before pressing the Battle button or otherwise starting the invasion.
  • Think of the wheelbarrows as the mission’s critical objective: plants can take damage, but losing a wheelbarrow ends the mission in the guides’ descriptions.
  • Leave room to adapt if a plant is knocked out temporarily; the sources do not establish a single best loadout for every mission.

What missions and storylines were added at launch?

A Plants vs Brainrots Changelog entry dated October 18, 2025 reports that the Storyline Update introduced 25 missions across five enemy storylines. The changelog says its update entries are sourced from the official Plants vs Brainrots Discord, so this is a dated report of launch-era content rather than a direct statement from the game listing.

Orangutini Ananassini One of the five enemy storylines reported in the October 18, 2025 changelog.
Orca The fifth storyline; the changelog ties the end of this arc to unlocking the Desert biome after mission 25.

The same update report describes tile-based plant placement and a Plant XP Extractor, which converts unwanted plants into XP. It also reports Secret-rarity Brainrots exclusive to the Desert biome. These details describe the October 2025 update, not necessarily every current feature or reward.

How progression and the Desert biome are reported

In the October 18, 2025 changelog, completing mission 25—the end of the Orca storyline—unlocks the Desert biome. That is a useful launch-era progression marker, but it does not establish today’s total number of missions or the complete live biome sequence.

Beebom’s guide, updated January 5, 2026, lists storylines and biome unlocks beyond the initial five arcs. A community PVB Wiki page reports a database update on February 28, 2026 and repeats the 25-mission launch structure. Those dated accounts indicate that coverage continued after launch, but they do not verify the exact progression available in the game on October 8, 2026. For the current next mission or biome, use the invasion panel in your game rather than relying on the launch count.
