Sony’s May 24, 2023 PlayStation Showcase ran for over an hour and featured more than thirty titles, spanning PlayStation Studios projects, third-party games, indie announcements, PS VR2 titles and hardware previews. The biggest moments included a lengthy look at Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, new multiplayer games, and the reveal of Project Q—a Remote Play device that depended on a PS5 rather than a standalone console.
The biggest game announcements
The Showcase mixed new reveals with updates on announced games. Sony’s official recap highlighted a broad slate rather than centering the presentation on a single title.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2
The event closed with an extended gameplay preview of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. Sony showed both Peter Parker and Miles Morales as playable characters, each with distinct abilities, and featured villains including Kraven the Hunter and the Lizard. At the time, Sony said the PS5 game was planned for fall 2023; that was an announcement-era window, not current release guidance.
PlayStation Studios multiplayer projects
Sony introduced three new multiplayer projects from PlayStation Studios: Fairgame$, a competitive heist experience; Concord, a multiplayer first-person shooter; and Helldivers 2. Sony’s May 2023 press release listed Concord for 2024 and Helldivers 2 for 2023. Those were the original planned windows, not present-day availability information.

What Project Q was—and what it required
Sony described Project Q as a way to play compatible games installed on a PS5 through Remote Play over Wi-Fi. It was therefore a companion device that relied on a PS5 console, not an independent game console.
In its May 2023 announcement, Sony gave these proposed device details:
