Eligible PlayStation Stars members can still redeem unexpired points in the PlayStation App’s Rewards Catalog for rewards that are currently available to their account. Those may include digital games or PSN Wallet funds, but the catalog is personal and changes—so check your own options and point expiry dates before November 2, 2026, when this version of PlayStation Stars ends.
How to redeem PlayStation Stars points for a game
- Open the PlayStation App and sign in to the eligible account.
- Go to Player Profile > PlayStation Stars > Rewards Catalog. You can also view your points balance from your profile. Sony’s U.S. PlayStation Stars FAQ describes the app-based redemption process.
- Review the rewards shown in your catalog. Look for a digital game you want, or compare other options such as PSN Wallet funds. Check the points required and any reward-specific limits before selecting.
- Choose the reward and complete the in-app redemption steps. The available games, point cost, and other rewards depend on the live catalog for your account; Sony does not promise one universal selection or conversion rate.
PlayStation’s terms say catalog rewards may include digital games, add-ons, in-game virtual currency, digital collectibles, and PSN Wallet funds. They do not include physical game discs, consoles, accessories, or other physical PlayStation items. A separately purchased PlayStation gift card is not a way to convert Stars points. See the Canadian PlayStation Stars terms for those reward categories and exclusions; regional terms may differ.

When do PlayStation Stars points expire?
Sony says the current version of PlayStation Stars ends on November 2, 2026. Members may continue redeeming eligible points until then, but individual points can expire sooner under the applicable terms. The program’s end date is not a guarantee that your entire balance will remain valid until that date. Check your account and local terms for your points’ expiry rules, then use the catalog while eligible rewards are available. Sony’s announcement confirms the end date and continued redemption for points that have not expired: PlayStation Stars update.
Who can still access PlayStation Stars?
PlayStation stopped accepting new members on May 21, 2025. The U.S. FAQ says current access applies to eligible members who joined before that cutoff, accepted updated terms effective October 24, 2024, and did not cancel their membership. If you joined before the cutoff but had not accepted the updated terms, Sony says you may regain access to unexpired points by signing in to the PS App and accepting them before the program ends. Consult the U.S. FAQ for the eligibility details that apply to your account.

Do not cancel to try to preserve or recover points
According to the U.S. FAQ, canceling on or after May 21, 2025 forfeits unused points and prevents you from rejoining. If you are unsure about your membership status or balance, check your account and the applicable terms before changing membership.

Sony’s U.S. FAQ says digital collectibles remain available as digital account items after PlayStation Stars ends, including after membership cancellation. They are distinct from points: keeping a collectible does not mean unused points remain redeemable.
