PlayStation’s official recap is the source for the announcement list and details below. The presentation included games for PS5 and PS4, a PS VR2 title, an optional VR mode, and two physical hardware announcements. It was a broad showcase rather than a presentation focused on one game.
Event details
PlayStation announced the broadcast for June 4, 2025, at 2pm PT / 5pm ET / 11pm CEST, and June 5 at 6am JST. The June 3 preview said the English-language program would run for more than 40 minutes and be available on YouTube and Twitch. In the recap, Sony Interactive Entertainment’s Manager of Content Communications, Gillen McAllister, described it as a showcase of “game reveals, release date confirmations, and new looks at titles coming to PlayStation in the near future.”
New game reveals and first looks
These announcements introduced games or showed them in a new way. A reveal or trailer is not, by itself, a review or an indication of a game’s quality or performance.

007 First Light
IO Interactive introduced this third-person action-adventure as a James Bond origin story. PlayStation announced a PS5 launch planned for 2026.
MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls
PlayStation Studios, Arc System Works and Marvel Games announced this tag-team fighter. The recap highlighted reimagined characters and stages, with controls intended to be approachable while still offering competitive depth.
Nioh 3
Koei Tecmo and Team Ninja announced this PS5 action RPG, featuring Samurai and Ninja combat styles. A limited-time demo was planned for PlayStation Store; the recap did not give a date for it.

Romeo is a Dead Man
Grasshopper Manufacture revealed this action game for PS5, planned for the following year. PlayStation described combat involving guns, swords and abilities taken from enemies.
Sea of Remnants
This PS5 oceanic action RPG was shown with crew recruitment, ship upgrades and a pirate city that changes according to player decisions. The recap did not provide a release date.
Tides of Tomorrow
DigixArt’s asynchronous multiplayer ocean adventure was listed for PS5 on February 24, 2026. The recap described a system in which one player’s choices can affect another player’s later experience.

Lumines Arise
The puzzle series was set to return on PS5 later in 2025, with optional PS VR2 compatibility. PlayStation described 30 stages and a new Burst mechanic.

Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection
Digital Eclipse and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment announced this collection for PS4 and PS5 later in 2025. It was described as including playable games and interactive documentaries.
Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound
The side-scrolling action game was listed for PS5 and PS4 on July 31, 2025.
Thief VR: Legacy of Shadow
The Thief series was reimagined for PS VR2, with a launch planned for later in 2025. PlayStation highlighted stealth, light sources and interactions designed for VR.

Previously announced game gets a dedicated showcase
Ghost of Yōtei
Rather than give a release date in this State of Play, PlayStation announced a dedicated episode for July 2025, promising a longer look at exploration, combat and other gameplay mechanics.
PlayStation Plus catalogue announcements
PlayStation announced these additions with specific tiers and dates. The catalogue references are historical; they do not establish whether any title remains available in a subscription today.
- Game Catalog: the PS2 version of Deus Ex was announced for June 17, 2025.
- Premium Classics range: Twisted Metal 3 and Twisted Metal 4 were announced for July 15, 2025.
- Classics range: the original PlayStation versions of Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3: Nemesis were announced for later in summer 2025.
- Game Catalog: Sword of the Sea was included in the August 2025 lineup.
Physical hardware announcements
Astro Bot Limited Edition DualSense controller
PlayStation announced five new Vicious Void Galaxy levels and Special Bots for Astro Bot that summer, along with an updated smiley design for the Astro Bot Limited Edition DualSense wireless controller. The controller was set to launch later in 2025. The recap does not establish its current retail availability or stock.
Project Defiant wireless fight stick
Project Defiant was revealed as PlayStation’s first wireless fight stick. The announcement said it could connect wirelessly through PlayStation Link or by wire to PS5 or PC, with launch planned for the following year. The recap does not establish whether it is currently on sale.
