The headline’s alleged State of Play leak cannot be tied to a specific event or original report in the available sources, so no game lineup can responsibly be presented as leaked or confirmed. PlayStation’s latest identified recap is for its September 3, 2026 broadcasts; that is a possible reference point, not proof that it is the event the headline meant.
What the headline does—and does not—establish
PlayStation describes State of Play as “our video program, showcasing all the latest updates, announcements and new trailers from the world of PlayStation.” Broadcasts take place throughout the year, with scheduling news shared through the PlayStation Blog and PlayStation’s X account (PlayStation’s State of Play page).
The available sources do not identify the event behind this headline or an original leak report naming its alleged games. Without those details, the lineup remains unverified. The September 3, 2026 recap is the latest event recap identified here, but its date alone does not connect it to the claim.
Confirmed appearances, predictions and leaks are different claims
Pre-show coverage can contain several kinds of information, and they should not be treated as interchangeable. Tom’s Guide’s September 3, 2026 live coverage, for example, said that Final Fantasy VII Revelation was confirmed to appear. It separately discussed predictions and a report that Keeper trophy data had surfaced (Tom’s Guide’s September 3, 2026 live coverage).

- Includes DualSense Wireless Controller, 1TB SSD, 2 Horizontal Stand Feet, HDMI Cable, AC power cord, USB cable, printed materials, ASTRO’s PLAYROOM (Pre-installed game)
- Vertical Stand sold seperately
- Confirmed appearance: A named, attributable source says a game will be shown. This is a pre-show claim, not proof of what the broadcast ultimately included.
- Reported leak: A report attributes information to a leak or other nonofficial source. Name the report and preserve its uncertainty; do not recast the claim as a PlayStation announcement.
- Prediction: A writer or commentator expects a game to appear. A prediction is speculation, even when it later turns out to be correct.
Those categories matter because the available coverage does not verify a particular leaked lineup for the event implied by the headline.
How to check what actually appeared
- Identify the event by its date and name in PlayStation’s official State of Play page.
- Open the matching recap and its linked announcements or trailers. PlayStation’s September 3, 2026 page covers State of Play and State of Play Japan, describing two shows and over 30 games.
- Compare any pre-show claim with the recap. A title’s appearance in the official recap confirms it was part of the published event coverage; a pre-show prediction or leak that is absent should not be described as an announcement.
Official recaps are the clearest way to establish what PlayStation presented. The February 12, 2026 recap describes studio updates, third-party titles, reveals and demos, while the June 2026 recap likewise lists announcements and trailers (PlayStation’s State of Play page).
