What the rankings can—and cannot—tell you
The charts are useful for seeing which titles ranked highest within a particular regional platform or category list. They do not establish how many more downloads one title had than another, whether a game was more profitable, or which game is better for an individual player. If you are choosing what to play, compare the relevant console and category first, then consider your preferences and the current edition or store listing. Minecraft, for example, appears in both regions’ PS5 and PS4 lists; Sony’s US Store has a Minecraft PS5 Standard Edition listing. A chart position does not establish retailer inventory or physical sales.
