It includes two distinct console bundles: a PS5 Pro Limited Edition Bundle and a PS5 Digital Edition bundle. The Pro is the higher-tier package and the one Sony said would be individually numbered, with 12,300 units offered globally.
What is the PS5 30th Anniversary Edition?
It is a limited-edition design collection marking 30 years of PlayStation, not a separate generation of console. Sony says the designs pay homage to three decades of gaming and specifically draw on the original PlayStation’s color design. On the Pro, the gray finish and legacy PlayStation colors make the reference especially clear; matching accessories extend the look beyond the console.
The styling is a deliberate callback rather than a new performance mode or a different game platform. The PS5 Pro retains the features of the regular PS5 Pro, while the anniversary package adds its distinct appearance and collector items.
How do the anniversary PS5 bundles compare?
| Bundle | Console tier | Announced storage | Notable included hardware | Collector status |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| PlayStation 5 Pro 30th Anniversary Limited Edition Bundle | PS5 Pro | 2TB SSD, as stated in Sony’s September 19, 2024 announcement | Matching DualSense and DualSense Edge controllers; DualSense Charging Station; console cover for a disc drive; vertical stand | Sony announced 12,300 individually numbered bundles for global purchase |
| PlayStation 5 Digital Edition 30th Anniversary Bundle | PS5 Digital Edition | Not stated reliably in Sony’s September 19, 2024 announcement; its post lists “1TD SSD,” apparently a typo | Matching DualSense controller; disc-drive cover; vertical stand | Sony’s announcement does not give this bundle a numbered global production count |
Both are anniversary designs, but they are not interchangeable names for one console. The Digital Edition bundle is not a PS5 Pro. The Pro package is distinguished by its higher-tier console and additional included controller and charging station, as well as its announced numbered run.

What comes in the 30th Anniversary PS5 Pro bundle?
Sony’s September 19, 2024 announcement lists the bundle with a 2TB SSD PS5 Pro, a matching DualSense wireless controller and DualSense Edge wireless controller, a DualSense Charging Station, and a console cover for a disc drive. The disc drive itself is sold separately; the cover is not a drive.
The box also includes a vertical stand, a controller-style cable connector housing, four PlayStation Shapes cable ties, a sticker, a paperclip, and one of 30 possible posters. Sony says Wi-Fi 7 is included in territories that support the standard.

How many 30th Anniversary PS5 Pros were made?
Sony announced 12,300 numbered PS5 Pro bundles for global purchase. The number etched on each console represents the month and day of the original PlayStation’s launch. That stated limit applies to the PS5 Pro bundle; Sony’s announcement does not specify an equivalent production count for the Digital Edition bundle.
Is the 30th Anniversary PS5 Pro different from a regular PS5 Pro?
Its hardware tier remains PS5 Pro. The anniversary distinction is the retro exterior, matching accessories, bundle contents and individually numbered collector status—not a separate class of Pro performance. Sony describes the regular PS5 Pro as having a 2TB SSD, an upgraded GPU, advanced ray tracing and PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR) upscaling.

At launch in November 2024, Sony said the Pro had 67% more GPU compute units and 28% faster memory than the standard PS5, and advertised rendering up to 45% faster. These are Sony’s stated comparisons, not independent test results; Sony says benefits such as enhanced visuals and performance depend on supported games and vary by title. The figures describe the Pro platform, not extra gains unique to the anniversary edition.

As of October 8, 2026, Sony’s Canada collection page describes the Pro and several related products as having “limited availability” at select participating retailers while supplies last. That page is not a live inventory checker, and its Canadian availability wording does not establish stock in another country. Check retailers in your market for current listings, condition and price; the official wording alone cannot confirm whether the console is available or sold out where you live.
Sony also lists standalone 30th Anniversary DualSense, DualSense Edge and PlayStation Portal products on its regional collection page. The Portal streams compatible games installed on a PS5; Sony says it requires a PS5 and PlayStation account, broadband Wi-Fi of at least 5 Mbps, and recommends 15 Mbps for a better experience.
