The Pleasure House is on the east side of the City of Tears in Hollow Knight. Its entrance is marked by a Hot Spring sign and needs a Simple Key. Inside, you’ll find the City’s only Hot Spring, the abandoned stage where Marissa once sang, and—if she has left her bank—Millibelle.
Where is the Pleasure House?
Look on the east side of the City of Tears for an entrance marked with a Hot Spring sign. The Pleasure House is a sub-area of the city, and its door is locked until you use a Simple Key. The location and access details are documented by the Hollow Knight Wiki.
How to open the entrance
The Simple Key that opens the Pleasure House is in the southeast part of the City of Tears, west of King’s Station. The Hollow Knight Wiki’s Simple Key guide lists four obtainable keys in the game:
- Buy one from Sly in Dirtmouth for 950 Geo.
- Find one in the northwest City of Tears, south of the City Storerooms.
- Take one from a Royal Retainer’s corpse inside a Mawlurk in the southwest Ancient Basin.
- Defeat the Pale Lurker in a hidden room behind the Colosseum of Fools to obtain one.
A Simple Key is consumed when used, and the keys can open several different locks. If you have only one available, consider which destination you want to unlock before spending it.

What’s inside the Pleasure House?
The Hot Spring and Bench
The Pleasure House contains the City of Tears’ only Hot Spring. A Bench is nearby, making the area a useful place to rest while exploring the city. A breakable wall beside the Bench connects the lift area to the Resting Grounds.
Marissa’s stage
The area also has an abandoned stage associated with Songstress Marissa. Her spirit can still be found there, singing the vocal accompaniment to the City of Tears theme.

The lift and kitchen
A lift in the area skips five floors. On the fifth floor, the Pleasure House Kitchen contains a Rancid Egg and Poggy Thorax. These location details are described by the Hollow Knight Wiki.

Millibelle starts out as a banker in Fog Canyon. After you deposit at least 2,550 Geo, rest at a Bench or use a Stagway, then return to the bank, her stand will be empty. She has moved to the Hot Spring in the Pleasure House.

According to the Hollow Knight Wiki’s Millibelle entry, striking her with the Nail makes Geo fall out. The wiki describes the return as approximately 1.5 times the amount deposited, with a maximum of 6,834 Geo; the initial 100-Geo account fee is not returned. These are in-game mechanics, not real-world banking advice.
