To complete Pokopia’s standard Pokédex, befriend 300 Pokémon by building their required Habitats or meeting them during story progression. Open the Pokédex to find a missing Pokémon’s Habitat needs, then check its area, time, and weather before deciding a Habitat has failed. Event entries are tracked separately.
How many Pokémon count toward Pokédex completion?
The standard Pokédex target is 300 Pokémon, excluding the separate event Pokédex. Nintendo Life’s 2026 guide reports 209 Habitats. GameSpot’s 2026 guide describes a broader list of 311 Pokémon that includes seven unusual NPC Pokémon; that is a different scope from the 300-entry standard completion target.

Counts and event entries can change with updates, so keep event progress separate when tracking the standard 300.
How to find a missing Pokémon
- Open the Pokédex and use the Y-button filter to narrow the list by specialty, current area, or Habitat needs, as described in Nintendo’s 2026 tips.
- Select a missing Pokédex entry and press + to search for that Pokémon. Nintendo’s official Pokémon Pokopia tips, dated April 30, 2026, give the same instruction: “If you’ve lost track of where a Pokémon is, open the Pokédex, select that Pokémon, and press the + Button to search for them.”
- Check the Habitat Dex and the selected entry for the Habitat requirements. Befriended Pokémon can also point you toward a target; if you have a Pokémon with Fly or Teleport, it can take you directly there.
Use the Pokédex’s filter and search to turn a large roster into a specific next task: locate the target, inspect what its Habitat needs, and then meet those conditions.
#1 Best Overall
- Shape the world and build a cozy new life with Pokémon as a Ditto transformed to look like a human.
- Use other Pokémon’s moves, like Bulbasaur’s Leafage, to revitalize and navigate the world around you.
- Meet and befriend more Pokémon as you help nature flourish.
- Gather materials to create items and furniture, till the fields to grow delicious crops, build homes for the Pokémon you meet, and more—there’s so much to do!
- Experience a world with varied weather, real-time days and nights, and other surprises.
How to make a Pokémon appear
Pokémon in Pokopia are befriended rather than caught in battles. Create the Habitat listed for the Pokémon, or encounter it during story progression. Habitat requirements can involve furniture, grass, flowers, hedges, water, elevation, or other themed objects. Build what the entry asks for rather than assuming that a roughly similar arrangement will count.
Check the conditions as well as the objects
A Habitat can be correctly built and still not produce the Pokémon if it only appears at a particular time or in particular weather. Nintendo Life’s 2026 Habitat guide records time and weather conditions alongside Habitats, so check those before rebuilding or moving objects.

- Buy Habitat hints from a Pokémon Center terminal.
- Collect Yellow Poké Balls on Dream Islands.
How to track event Pokémon separately
Keep a separate list for the event Pokédex. Event entries use event-specific items and may be added as future events arrive; they are not part of the standard 300-entry completion count. When an event is active, check its requirements and items rather than treating an event-only Habitat as a missing standard entry.
What happens when you complete the 300-entry Pokédex?
- When the standard counter reaches 300, craft the Neo Dowsing Machine.
- Follow Professor Tangrowth’s direction to Sparkling Skylands.
- Bring a Pokémon with the Search specialty. It can detect the underground gate.
- Scan the completed Pokédex to open the Developer Room.
- Inside, find recipes for the Printer, Shutter, and Card Reader. The Printer produces a completion diploma.
Plan an efficient Habitat route
If you are choosing between two Habitat targets, compare more than their required objects. The practical route is the one you can satisfy with the least extra travel and the fewest unmet conditions.

- Explore the Grand Underground to dig up items and Pokémon Fossils, build a Secret Base, and more.
- Test your style and rhythm in a Super Contest Show
- A reimagined adventure, now for the Nintendo Switch system
- Requirements: note each required object and quantity.
- Location: compare the area or region where each Habitat must be built.
- Conditions: record required weather and time of day.
- Progress: check whether the target is gated by story progression, limited to an event, or available in the base game.
- Completion scope: distinguish entries that count toward the standard 300 from event progress or the broader 311-Pokémon list.
- Useful specialty: note any specialty you gain along the way that could help with later searches or travel.
Writing those details beside each missing entry makes it easier to group targets by area or conditions and avoid revisiting a Habitat that was built at the wrong time or in unsuitable weather.
