No—Pokémon Bank does not connect directly to Pokémon Scarlet. The supported route is Pokémon Bank → Pokémon HOME → Pokémon Scarlet. You need a paid Pokémon HOME Premium Plan for the Bank-to-HOME transfer, and you must use HOME’s Nintendo Switch version to connect with Scarlet. Only Pokémon that appear in Scarlet can be moved into the game, and anything transferred out of Bank cannot be returned there.
There is also a deadline: The Pokémon Company says Bank-to-HOME transfers will stop on February 26, 2027, at 03:00 UTC. If you still have Pokémon in Bank, move them before that time.

Does Pokémon Bank work on Scarlet directly?
No. Pokémon Bank cannot connect directly to Pokémon Scarlet. Scarlet is a Nintendo Switch game, while Bank is the older storage service used with Nintendo 3DS-era Pokémon games. Pokémon HOME is the required bridge between them.

- Move Pokémon from Bank into Pokémon HOME.
- Open the Nintendo Switch version of Pokémon HOME and connect it to Pokémon Scarlet.
- Move only the Pokémon that HOME identifies as compatible with Scarlet into the game.
Pokémon’s official HOME overview lists the supported Switch games and explains the role of HOME as the connection point: Pokémon HOME. Bank itself is not a Scarlet storage or connection option.

What you need before starting
| Requirement | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Pokémon HOME Premium Plan | A paid Premium Plan is required for the Bank-to-HOME transfer. Pokémon’s current plan comparison is at Pokémon HOME; plan prices and terms can change. |
| Pokémon Bank access | Your Pokémon must still be available in Bank when you begin the transfer. |
| Nintendo Switch version of Pokémon HOME | The Switch application is what connects HOME to Pokémon Scarlet. The mobile HOME app alone cannot link to Scarlet. |
| Nintendo Account and, for the no-3DS route, the linked Nintendo Network ID | The account-linked transfer method without a 3DS requires the Nintendo Network ID associated with Bank to be linked to the Nintendo Account used for HOME. |
| Compatibility with Scarlet | A Pokémon can move into Scarlet only if that Pokémon appears in Scarlet. HOME shows connected-game eligibility for individual Pokémon. |
Before confirming anything, make sure the HOME account you intend to use is the one associated with your Bank access. A transfer out of Bank is permanent with respect to Bank: Pokémon moved into HOME cannot be sent back to Pokémon Bank.
How to move Pokémon from Bank to Scarlet
1. Transfer from Pokémon Bank to Pokémon HOME
The first transfer does not go to Scarlet. It goes from Bank into HOME, and Pokémon Support documents two ways to start it: a method using a Nintendo 3DS and an account-linked method that does not require a 3DS. Both require Pokémon HOME Premium for the Bank-to-HOME step.
Option A: Use a Nintendo 3DS
If you still have the 3DS associated with your Bank setup, use the transfer process in Pokémon Bank and select the boxes or Pokémon you want to send to HOME. This option lets you choose what to move rather than automatically sending the entire Bank, which is useful if you want to keep an organized plan for several games.
- Open Pokémon Bank on the 3DS that has your stored Pokémon.
- Start the transfer-to-HOME process and follow the on-screen instructions.
- Select the boxes or Pokémon you want to transfer when prompted.
- Confirm only after checking that the selection is correct. Once accepted, those Pokémon leave Bank and cannot be returned to it.
- Complete the transfer in HOME before trying to place the Pokémon in Scarlet.
The exact prompts can vary with the current service flow, so use Pokémon Support’s instructions for the current procedure: About connecting Pokémon HOME to different games.

Option B: Transfer without a 3DS
You can use the no-3DS method if the Nintendo Network ID associated with Pokémon Bank is linked to the Nintendo Account used for Pokémon HOME. This method transfers all Pokémon in Bank at once, rather than allowing a selected-box transfer.
- Confirm that the Nintendo Network ID used with Bank is linked to the Nintendo Account you use for HOME.
- In the HOME transfer flow, choose the option to move Pokémon from Bank without a 3DS.
- Review the warning that the transfer covers the entire Bank storage.
- Confirm the transfer only if you are ready to move every Pokémon in Bank into HOME.
If you no longer have a Bank subscription, Pokémon Support has a separate explanation of access and transfer conditions: I no longer have a subscription to Pokémon Bank, can I still access my Pokémon and move them to Pokémon HOME?. Availability still depends on the Bank service remaining within its operating period.
2. Open HOME on Nintendo Switch
After the Bank-to-HOME transfer, launch the Nintendo Switch version of Pokémon HOME. The mobile application is useful for HOME features, but it cannot perform the connection to Scarlet by itself. Pokémon’s instructions distinguish the Switch application from the mobile version when connecting HOME to different games.

3. Check each Pokémon’s Scarlet eligibility
Scarlet cannot receive every Pokémon that can be stored in HOME. Pokémon’s rule is that a Pokémon may be moved only to games in which it appears. In HOME’s connected-game view, inspect the individual Pokémon before planning your team or releasing space in Bank.
If HOME prevents a move, that usually means the Pokémon is not eligible for Scarlet under the game’s supported roster. Leave it in HOME or move it only to another connected game in which it appears. Do not treat a successful Bank-to-HOME transfer as proof that Scarlet can accept the Pokémon; the compatibility check happens again when you connect HOME to Scarlet.
Why some Pokémon can stay in HOME but not enter Scarlet
HOME is broader storage shared across supported games, whereas each individual game has its own set of Pokémon that can appear in it. A Pokémon can therefore be safely stored in HOME after leaving Bank but still be blocked from Scarlet.
Use HOME’s connected-game eligibility information as the deciding check for a specific species. This is more reliable than assuming that a Pokémon’s presence in an older game, or its ability to enter HOME, guarantees access to Scarlet. The official transfer rules are described at Move Pokémon to Pokémon HOME.

Bank-to-HOME transfers are one-way
Plan the move as a permanent migration out of Bank. Pokémon Support states that a Pokémon transferred from Bank to HOME cannot be moved back to Bank. This applies whether you transfer selected boxes with a 3DS or move the entire Bank without one.
- Check your selection before confirming a 3DS transfer.
- Use the no-3DS option only when you are ready to move all Bank Pokémon at once.
- Do not transfer a Pokémon merely to test whether it can enter Scarlet.
- Check Scarlet eligibility in HOME first, then decide where the Pokémon should stay.
Once the Pokémon is in HOME, you can leave it there if Scarlet does not support it. The irreversible part is leaving Bank, not the choice to place an eligible Pokémon in Scarlet.

The Pokémon Bank service page currently gives the end-of-service time as Friday, February 26, 2027, at 03:00 UTC. The same notice says Bank-to-HOME transfers will stop at that time and advises users to move their stored Pokémon into HOME before the service ends: Pokémon Bank.

This is a time-sensitive deadline. Convert 03:00 UTC to your local time and leave a buffer for account-linking problems, application updates or a transfer that needs more than one attempt. The date is stated by Pokémon and should be checked again if you are planning a transfer close to the cutoff, because service information can change.

Which transfer method should you use?
| Situation | Best route | Important trade-off |
|---|---|---|
| You have the 3DS used for Bank and want to move only certain Pokémon | Use the 3DS transfer flow and select the relevant boxes or Pokémon. | You must review the selection carefully; anything moved out of Bank cannot return. |
| You no longer have a 3DS but the Bank Nintendo Network ID is linked to your HOME Nintendo Account | Use the no-3DS, account-linked transfer. | All Pokémon in Bank move at once, so there is no selected-box option. |
| You have already moved Pokémon into HOME and only need them in Scarlet | Use Pokémon HOME on Nintendo Switch, connect Scarlet, and move eligible Pokémon into its boxes. | The mobile HOME app alone cannot make this game connection. |
| A Pokémon is blocked when you try to place it in Scarlet | Keep it in HOME and check its connected-game eligibility. | Only Pokémon that appear in Scarlet can enter Scarlet. |
Common problems and what they mean
“I cannot connect HOME to Scarlet.”
Check that you opened Pokémon HOME on Nintendo Switch, not only the mobile app. The Switch version is required to connect HOME with Scarlet.
“The Bank transfer option is unavailable.”
Bank-to-HOME transfer requires an active paid HOME Premium Plan. Also check whether the Bank service is still within its announced operating period. The Premium feature comparison is maintained at home.pokemon.com.
“I do not have a 3DS.”
The no-3DS route may still work when the Nintendo Network ID associated with Bank is linked to the Nintendo Account used by HOME. Remember that this route moves every Pokémon in Bank at once.
Recommended Free Tools
“HOME shows the Pokémon, but Scarlet will not accept it.”
Being stored in HOME does not make a Pokémon universally compatible. Check that individual Pokémon’s connected-game eligibility. If it does not appear in Scarlet, it cannot be moved into Scarlet.
“Can I send it back to Bank if I change my mind?”
No. Bank-to-HOME transfers are one-way. Make the decision before confirming the transfer, and keep incompatible Pokémon in HOME rather than attempting to use Scarlet as a test.
Bottom line for “Can I transfer Pokémon from Bank to Scarlet?”
You can move Pokémon from Bank to Scarlet, but only indirectly: Bank → HOME → Scarlet. HOME Premium is required for the first leg, the Nintendo Switch version of HOME is required for the Scarlet connection, and Scarlet accepts only Pokémon that appear in the game. Because the transfer out of Bank cannot be reversed and the service is scheduled to stop supporting Bank-to-HOME transfers on February 26, 2027, at 03:00 UTC, check eligibility and account details before you confirm.
