What did the Gen 10 region leak claim?
A Tech Times report published October 14, 2024, attributed claims about the next Pokémon setting to leakers Riddler_Khu and Centro LEAKS. The report described an alleged water-heavy region built around island exploration in an archipelago.
The same report said the project was reportedly codenamed “Gaia,” with the two versions referred to internally as “K” and “N.” Those details were attributed to leakers; they were not confirmed by Game Freak or Nintendo in the official announcement reviewed here. The report also does not establish a specific real-world inspiration, so claims that the region is based on Greece, Southeast Asia, or another place go beyond what this evidence supports.
What did Nintendo confirm about Pokémon Gen 10?
On March 2, 2026, Nintendo announced Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves. Nintendo says the games are planned as Nintendo Switch 2 exclusives for release in 2027. Its announcement invites readers to see initial details, including the main characters and first partner Pokémon, but does not name the region or describe its geography. The confirmed title names do not authenticate the other claims associated with the breach. The official information in that announcement establishes the games’ names, platform, and planned release year—not an archipelago, a codename, or the region’s inspiration.
What did the Game Freak hack involve?
Game Freak said a third party gained unauthorized access to its server in August 2024. In an October 2024 notice, the company said affected personal information included employee and contractor names and company email addresses, totaling 2,606 items. That is a count of data items, not people or leaked game files. The notice confirms a personal-data incident; it does not verify every development file or claim later circulated online.

Game Freak said it was contacting affected personnel and had rebuilt and inspected the server. The company’s statement, reproduced by Nintendo Everything, said: “We have already rebuilt and inspected the server, and will strive to prevent recurrence by further strengthening our security measures.”

The practical answer is that the leaked setting may eventually prove accurate, but there is not yet an official region reveal in the cited announcement. Treat more specific maps, inspiration claims, or gameplay descriptions as speculation unless Nintendo or Game Freak confirms them.
