An accessible listing for the ScreenRant article says a leak may show Game Freak’s Gen 11 plans, but it does not provide the article’s details or the original leak. Separately, an unofficial leak reference claims a Gen 11 region concept was selected. Meanwhile, the next announced mainline games are Gen 10’s Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves, due in 2027 for Nintendo Switch 2.
What is actually known about the Gen 11 leak?
The evidence supports only a narrow claim: an IMDb syndicated listing for Angharad Redden’s February 27, 2026 ScreenRant article says a leak “may just show Game Freak’s plans for Gen 11.” The listing does not expose the article’s substantive text, identify the source account, or provide the original leak material. It therefore cannot establish what the alleged plan is. IMDb’s ScreenRant listing

A separate, unofficial reference page from Pokéos says a leak source claimed a Generation 11 region concept had been chosen and was not based on Greece, Australia, or the western United States. That is a claim recorded by a leak roundup—not an official announcement, proof of a finalized setting, or confirmation that it is the same claim behind the ScreenRant headline. What has Pokémon officially revealed?
The confirmed next mainline games are Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves, which reporting on the official reveal identifies as Generation 10 titles. They are planned for a worldwide release in 2027 on Nintendo Switch 2. This is Gen 10 information; it does not verify a Gen 11 plan. GameSpot’s announcement report

The announced setting and starters
The reveal showed a new region with tropical beaches, cliffs with windmills, and a tease of underwater exploration. The starters are Browt, a Grass type; Pombon, a Fire type; and Gecqua, a Water type. Engadget also reported the Pokémon account’s description of “beautiful windswept islands and a vast ocean with glittering waves that ebb and flow.” These details describe Winds and Waves, not Gen 11.
