In March 2024, Ditto could be disguised as Oddish, Koffing, Rhyhorn, Goldeen, Spinarak, Numel, Bidoof, Gothita, Solosis, Bergmite, or Stufful. This is a historical roster for that month, not a current list: Pokémon GO’s disguise pool changes over time.

What Pokémon could Ditto be disguised as in March 2024?

A historical rotation record places this roster from December 15, 2023, through September 23, 2025, covering March 2024. The record is community-maintained, so treat the list as a period-specific guide rather than an official present-day roster. Pokémon GO Hub’s Ditto guide covers the general mechanic; a March 2024 guide also names the period’s disguises. A January 2024 list predates the March rotation and should not be used as the month’s roster. Pocket Tactics’ January 24, 2024 guide is an example of why dates matter.

How do you catch Ditto in Pokémon GO?

Ditto appears in the wild as an eligible Pokémon, not as Ditto itself. You cannot confirm a disguise from the map or encounter screen: it is revealed only after you successfully catch the Pokémon. Niantic described this mechanic in its November 23, 2016 announcement.

Check that the wild Pokémon is one of the March 2024 disguises listed above.
Catch it normally; there is no map-side indicator that identifies which eligible Pokémon will be Ditto.
Wait for the post-catch reveal to see whether the Pokémon was Ditto.

According to Niantic’s announcement, if a particular wild encounter is Ditto for one Trainer, it will also reveal as Ditto for other Trainers who catch that same encounter. Pokémon GO Hub says compatible Pokémon GO Plus and auto-catch devices can catch Ditto, but a device does not establish better odds for any individual eligible spawn.

Can a Shiny Pokémon be Ditto?

No. A Pokémon that appears Shiny will remain that species rather than turn into Ditto. The reverse is possible: a Shiny Ditto can be disguised as a non-Shiny eligible Pokémon. Niantic explains this rule in its Ditto Help Center article.

Is this still the current Ditto disguise list?

No. The list above is specifically for March 2024. Niantic’s September 2025 event announcement said Ditto changed into different wild Pokémon for the event and that the change continued afterward. Because disguise pools can change, a current answer needs a date and an up-to-date source.
