Pokémon GO has eight Eevee evolutions. To target Espeon or Umbreon, make Eevee your buddy, walk the required distance, then evolve at the right time of day; Leafeon and Glaceon require the matching active Lure Module, while Sylveon requires buddy hearts. Vaporeon, Jolteon, and Flareon share a random evolution path, so that method cannot select one of those three. Before evolving, check the form shown on Eevee’s summary screen.

Niantic says Candy requirements vary by Pokémon and are displayed on that Pokémon’s summary screen. The commonly reported cost for Eevee evolutions is 25 Eevee Candy, but the in-game display is the practical authority if a game update or event changes the cost. See Niantic’s evolution help page.

How to evolve Eevee into Espeon or Umbreon
- Set Eevee as your buddy and walk 10 km with it. The distance is reported by Bulbapedia; the official Pokémon guide confirms the buddy-task and time-of-day framework but does not state that distance.
- Keep Eevee as your buddy when you open its summary and check the evolution option.
- Evolve during the day for Espeon or at night for Umbreon. If the preview does not show the form you want, do not tap Evolve; recheck the buddy and walking conditions.
How to get Leafeon or Glaceon
Use the corresponding active lure at a PokéStop: a Mossy Lure for Leafeon or a Glacial Lure for Glaceon. Once the lure is active and you are in range, open Eevee’s summary and verify that the intended form appears before evolving. These lure conditions are reported by Bulbapedia; use the in-game preview as the final check.
How to get Sylveon
Make Eevee your buddy and earn 70 hearts to meet Sylveon’s usual requirement. The Pokémon Company’s January 2026 Precious Pals event announcement stated that the standard requirement was 70 hearts and temporarily reduced it to 20 during the event. That bonus ended January 25, 2026, so 20 hearts should not be treated as the current standard.

What to check before spending Candy
- Open Eevee’s summary and read the evolution requirement shown there; Niantic says requirements can vary by species.
- For a specific evolution, check the silhouette or form displayed by the Evolve button. Do not proceed if it does not match your target.
- For Espeon and Umbreon, confirm Eevee is still your buddy and choose the correct time of day after walking.
- For Leafeon and Glaceon, make sure the matching lure is active and you are close enough for the target option to appear.
- For Sylveon, rely on the current heart count shown in the game rather than a past event requirement.
Can you choose Vaporeon, Jolteon, or Flareon?
The ordinary evolution path is reported to produce Vaporeon, Jolteon, or Flareon at random when no special condition applies. It is not a reliable way to choose among those three. If you need a particular one, check the preview before evolving and wait rather than spending Candy when the displayed outcome is not your target.
