For Pokémon GO raids, Dawn Wings Necrozma with Psycho Cut and Moongeist Beam is the best-supported current top pick. Pokémon GO Hub’s ranking updated October 12, 2026, and Dittobase’s eDPS ranking updated October 6 both place it first. Mega Gengar and Mega Mewtwo Y are the other leading choices, although their order changes with the metric and simulator settings.
This is a raid-focused ranking, not a universal list for every Pokémon GO mode. Some tools rank any Pokémon using Ghost-type moves, including off-type, Mega and Shadow forms, while a literal “Ghost-type Pokémon” list would exclude some of those entries. Use the assumptions beside each result before spending resources.

The current short list
The most useful way to read the current rankings is as a top tier rather than a permanent one-to-seven order. Moves, boss selection and simulator settings can change the exact placement. The table below combines the leading names shown by the freshest ranking pages available as of October 13, 2026.
| Attacker | Moves shown in current rankings | How to use the result |
|---|---|---|
| Dawn Wings Necrozma | Psycho Cut + Moongeist Beam | Best-supported overall pick across the two freshest lists. |
| Mega Gengar | Lick + Shadow Ball | Top-tier damage option; its rank changes by scoring method. |
| Mega Mewtwo Y | Psycho Cut + Shadow Ball | Top-tier option with particularly strong staying-power results in one current snapshot. |
| Mega Mewtwo X | Psycho Cut + Shadow Ball | Appears among the leading attackers in current rankings. |
| Shadow Darkrai | Snarl + Shadow Ball | High-ranking Shadow option when rankings include off-type Pokémon using Ghost moves. |
| Mega Banette | Shadow Claw + Shadow Ball | Part of Pokémon GO Hub’s current leading group. |
| Shadow Chandelure | Hex + Shadow Ball | Another high-ranking choice whose exact position varies by source. |
“Ghost attacker” therefore has two meanings in practice: a Ghost-type species attacking with Ghost moves, and any raid attacker whose selected moves deal Ghost-type damage. Pokémon GO Hub and Pokebattler allow the broader interpretation. If you want only Ghost-type species, inspect the species list separately instead of copying an off-type entry from a filtered ranking.

Why Dawn Wings Necrozma leads the 2026 lists
Dawn Wings Necrozma is the only name that sits first in both of the newest ranking snapshots reviewed. Its listed raid set is Psycho Cut and Moongeist Beam. That consistency is stronger evidence than a single raw score, because the two pages use different scoring systems.
Dittobase’s October 6, 2026 snapshot gives Dawn Wings Necrozma an eDPS of 28.97. Pokémon GO Hub’s October 12 snapshot reports DPS of 35.48 and total damage output (TDO) of 885.2. Those numbers are not interchangeable: eDPS, DPS and TDO measure different things and are calculated under different model assumptions. The agreement is about its position at the top, not about one universal damage number.
That distinction matters when you build a raid team. A ranking that rewards sustained damage through relobby time can favor a different attacker from a ranking that shows only damage while the Pokémon remains on the field. Dawn Wings Necrozma is the safest current default if your goal is a Ghost-move raid team, but the boss-specific result still deserves a check before you commit expensive resources.

Mega Gengar
Mega Gengar appears near the top of both current sources with Lick and Shadow Ball. Pokémon GO Hub’s October 12 snapshot lists 36.03 DPS and 575.1 TDO. The high DPS and lower TDO illustrate the trade-off directly: a Pokémon can deal damage quickly while contributing less total damage before fainting in the simulator’s modeled battle.
Dittobase places Mega Gengar at 26.77 eDPS in its October 6 snapshot, behind Dawn Wings Necrozma and Mega Mewtwo Y in that particular calculation. Do not interpret that as a contradiction. The score includes assumptions about damage, fainting and relobbying that raw DPS does not.

Mega Mewtwo Y
Mega Mewtwo Y is listed with Psycho Cut and Shadow Ball. In Dittobase’s October 6 eDPS snapshot it scores 27.40, second among the three values quoted there. Pokémon GO Hub’s October 12 snapshot reports 33.02 DPS and 1,035.6 TDO.
The lower DPS but much higher TDO in that Pokémon GO Hub output is exactly why a raid team should not sort by one column blindly. If a boss causes frequent faint-outs, the extra modeled damage before relobbying can matter more than a short-lived peak. If you are comparing Mega Mewtwo Y with Mega Gengar, state whether you care about burst damage, total contribution or sustained output.
Mega Mewtwo X
Mega Mewtwo X also appears among the leading options with Psycho Cut and Shadow Ball. The current material establishes its presence in the top group, but does not provide a directly comparable DPS, TDO or eDPS figure for it in the quoted snapshots. Treat its placement as ranking evidence, not as a precise promise of performance in every raid.
Shadow Darkrai
Shadow Darkrai, shown with Snarl and Shadow Ball, ranks highly when a list includes non-Ghost Pokémon that use Ghost moves. It is an important reminder that “best Ghost-type attacker” searches often return “best attacker using Ghost moves” instead. If your roster policy is limited to Ghost-type species, leave it out; if your policy is maximum Ghost-move damage, evaluate it alongside the other entries.
Mega Banette
Mega Banette appears in Pokémon GO Hub’s current top group with Shadow Claw and Shadow Ball. The available material does not establish a matching Dittobase number or a universal position across all simulators. Use the same discipline as with every other entry: verify the current move set, select the metric that matches your goal and test it against the specific raid boss.

Shadow Chandelure
Shadow Chandelure, listed with Hex and Shadow Ball, is another high-ranking option. Its position varies among the current sources, which is normal when one list emphasizes sustained eDPS and another exposes DPS, TDO and a composite score. It belongs in a serious comparison, but its inclusion does not make it a fixed replacement for Dawn Wings Necrozma, Mega Gengar or Mega Mewtwo Y.
The numbers: DPS, TDO and eDPS answer different questions
Before comparing two rows, identify what the statistic actually measures.
| Metric | Question it helps answer | What it can miss |
|---|---|---|
| DPS | How much damage does the attacker deal per second while it is active? | It does not by itself show how long the Pokémon survives or how much time is lost relobbying. |
| TDO | How much total damage does the modeled attacker deal before fainting? | A high total can come with lower immediate pressure; the value depends on the battle model. |
| eDPS | What sustained damage rate results when damage and relobby downtime are combined? | It is model-dependent and changes with boss pool, weather, friendship, level and other settings. |
| Composite EER/TER-style scores | How does a ranking’s combined estimate balance offensive and practical raid value? | The formula and weighting belong to that ranking system, not to Pokémon GO as an official rule. |
Dittobase describes eDPS as a sustained-damage measure that blends damage with relobby downtime against a representative pool of bosses weak to Ghost. Its settings include weather, level, friendship, Party Power and other conditions. Pokémon GO Hub presents DPS, TDO and a modified EER/TER score, and lets readers include or filter Mega, Shadow and off-type attackers. Pokebattler’s comparison is described as level 40, with no friend or weather boost, and ordered by estimator.
Because those assumptions differ, a Dittobase eDPS value of 28.97 cannot be placed in the same numeric ranking as Pokémon GO Hub’s DPS value of 35.48. The figures are useful inside their own systems; combining them into one table of “damage” would create a false comparison.
Why two current lists can disagree
Different definitions of the eligible roster
Some rankings include only species that fit a type filter. Others include every Pokémon that can use a Ghost-type fast or charged move, even when the species itself is not Ghost-type. Mega and Shadow forms may also be included or excluded with a filter. A list that allows all three categories can show Mega Mewtwo or Shadow Darkrai beside Ghost-type species, while a restricted list will not.

Different battle conditions
Weather, trainer level, friendship bonuses, Party Power, boss defense and the modeled raid pool all change the result. A ranking run with no weather or friend boost is answering a different question from one that assumes boosted play. Record these conditions whenever you save or share a ranking.
Different treatment of fainting and relobbying
Raw DPS rewards damage during the attacker’s active time. eDPS attempts to account for the downtime after a team faints and returns to the lobby. TDO emphasizes the damage the individual can deliver before fainting. Those priorities can put Mega Gengar, Mega Mewtwo Y and Dawn Wings Necrozma in different orders without either list being erroneous.
Updates and move changes
Rankings are snapshots. The freshest page identified here was Pokémon GO Hub’s update on October 12, 2026, one day before the research date. Dittobase’s snapshot was updated October 6. Older 2026 lists from Pokemon Guide, dated July 18 and August 29, differ materially from the newer simulator pages. Their disagreement is useful evidence that the order is volatile, not a reason to average old and new numbers together.
How to choose an attacker for a real raid
Use this sequence instead of spending Stardust solely because a Pokémon appears at number one.
The Tool Desk
Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Outbyte PC Repair FREEClear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →- Confirm the boss and its weaknesses in the current game. The rankings discussed here are for raids against bosses that the simulator treats as weak to Ghost moves. A Ghost team is not automatically the best answer to every boss.
- Decide whether your roster rule is type-based or move-based. For a Ghost-type-only team, exclude off-type entries that happen to use Shadow Ball or another Ghost move. For maximum Ghost-move output, include the broader pool and keep the filter visible.
- Choose the metric that matches your problem. Use DPS when immediate pressure is the priority, TDO when survival and individual contribution matter, and eDPS when relobby downtime is part of the decision.
- Match the simulator settings to your raid group. Set level, weather, friendship and Party Power as closely as possible. If you will raid without those bonuses, do not rely on a boosted result.
- Check the boss-specific estimator. Pokebattler and similar tools can model one boss rather than a representative pool. A roster that leads across many theoretical bosses may not lead against the target you are actually fighting.
- Verify the displayed moves and form. The current ranking rows show the combinations evaluated: Psycho Cut + Moongeist Beam for Dawn Wings Necrozma, Lick + Shadow Ball for Mega Gengar, Psycho Cut + Shadow Ball for both Mega Mewtwo forms, Snarl + Shadow Ball for Shadow Darkrai, Shadow Claw + Shadow Ball for Mega Banette and Hex + Shadow Ball for Shadow Chandelure.
- Only then decide whether an upgrade is worthwhile. Compare the candidate with the best attacker already in your party under the same settings. A rank difference from another metric is not, by itself, proof that you need to rebuild.
A practical investment framework
The question “Which ones are worth the Stardust?” has no single answer without your roster and raid goal. Use three checks.

Check 1: Is the improvement measurable in your conditions?
Run the existing attacker and the candidate in the same boss-specific simulator, with identical level, weather, friendship and Party Power settings. If you change several assumptions at once, you cannot tell whether the Pokémon or the scenario caused the result.
Check 2: Are you comparing like with like?
Do not compare a Shadow result with a non-Shadow result while also changing the metric. Do not compare Mega-eligible output with a non-Mega team and then treat the rank as a permanent team slot. Keep the form and eligibility filters visible in your notes.
Check 3: Does the team need burst or endurance?
For a short damage race, a high DPS result may be the relevant signal. For repeated fainting, TDO and eDPS can be more informative. If you routinely relobby, a sustained metric may better describe your actual raid time than the first line of a DPS chart.

Using rankings without overreading them
- Keep the date. Write “Pokémon GO Hub, updated October 12, 2026” or “Dittobase, updated October 6, 2026” beside a saved result.
- Keep the statistic. A rank without DPS, TDO, eDPS or the named composite score is incomplete.
- Keep the settings. Note level, weather, friendship, Party Power, Mega and Shadow filters, and whether off-type attackers are allowed.
- Keep the scope. These conclusions concern raids. They do not establish the best attackers for Max Battles or other game modes.
- Prefer current, boss-specific output. A representative Ghost-weak boss pool is useful for a general shortlist, but it cannot replace a simulation of the raid you are planning.
What this ranking does—and does not—prove
It supports Dawn Wings Necrozma as the most consistently current top pick for Ghost-move raid attacking, with the listed move combination. It supports Mega Gengar and Mega Mewtwo Y as top-tier alternatives, while showing that their order depends on the scoring method. It also identifies Mega Mewtwo X, Shadow Darkrai, Mega Banette and Shadow Chandelure as serious candidates in rankings that include their forms and move sets.
It does not establish one immutable “best” Pokémon for every raid, a universal damage number, an official Pokémon GO ranking, or current costs and acquisition requirements. No official source for move availability, event timing or resource costs was identified in the material used for this comparison. Recheck the live ranking pages immediately before a major investment, especially after a move or battle-system update.
Bottom line for raid teams
Start with Dawn Wings Necrozma using Psycho Cut and Moongeist Beam when you want the strongest current consensus pick. Add Mega Gengar or Mega Mewtwo Y when their metric and your raid conditions favor them. Consider Mega Mewtwo X, Shadow Darkrai, Mega Banette and Shadow Chandelure only after deciding whether your definition includes off-type, Mega and Shadow attackers. The meaningful comparison is not a naked rank; it is the attacker, move set, metric, form filter and raid assumptions together.
