Shiny Goomy was available during Pokémon GO’s June 9, 2024 Community Day, but that event is over. The official sources cited here do not establish a current general encounter route or numeric shiny odds for Goomy, so check Niantic’s latest event announcements rather than relying on that past boost. Standard Sliggoo evolves into Goodra in rainy in-game weather or near a Rainy Lure Module.
How do you get shiny Goomy in Pokémon GO?
Goomy could appear shiny during the June 9, 2024 Community Day, when Niantic said it would appear more frequently in the wild and lucky Trainers might encounter a Shiny one. That was a time-limited event, not an ongoing spawn boost. The official sources cited here do not confirm a current general route for encountering standard Goomy; check Pokémon GO’s current event announcements for a new opportunity.
Niantic says shiny Pokémon may be encountered in the wild, raids, research rewards, and other rewards, but availability varies and not every Pokémon has an available shiny variant at any given time. When you encounter a Pokémon, the Pokémon GO Help Center says: “You can tell if the Pokémon you’ve encountered is a Shiny Pokémon if you see an icon above their CP like the one in the picture below.” Niantic Help Center: What are Shiny Pokémon?
How do you evolve Sliggoo into Goodra?
For standard Sliggoo, Niantic’s June 2024 Community Day announcement says it can evolve into Goodra when the in-game weather is rainy or when you are near a Rainy Lure Module. The announcement does not specify the candy cost, so confirm the requirement shown in your game before evolving.

- 50+ Pokemon Cards
- 5 Holos Guaranteed minimium per order
- 1 GX, EX, V, VMax, Full Art, Tag Team, or Secret Rare
The cited official sources do not explicitly confirm whether shiny status carries through this standard evolution line. If you want a shiny Sliggoo or Goodra, check the Pokémon’s appearance in-game after evolving rather than treating inheritance as established by these sources.
Can you get shiny Hisuian Sliggoo in Pokémon GO?
Yes, Niantic’s 2026 GO Wild Area: Sendai page says ticket holders at the in-person event may encounter Hisuian Sliggoo in the wild, and that it may be shiny. This is a separate Hisuian-form opportunity, tied to the stated location and ticket conditions; it is not evidence of a general standard Goomy spawn.
Rank #2
- 50 assorted Pokemon cards
- Bundle with an LCC deck box that holds upto 100 Pokemon cards
- 1 Double rare legendary Pokemon card
The event page says Hisuian Sliggoo evolves into Hisuian Goodra using 100 Goomy Candy. Keep the forms distinct: this documented cost and encounter opportunity concern Hisuian Sliggoo and Hisuian Goodra, not the standard-form evolution instructions above. See the official GO Wild Area: Sendai announcement for event details.

What shiny odds and current spawn routes are confirmed?
The official sources cited here provide no numeric shiny encounter rate for Goomy, Sliggoo, or Goodra, and they do not establish a current general encounter route for standard Goomy. Do not assume an old Community Day boost remains active or apply an unverified percentage. Event encounter pools and rules can change, so use current official announcements for the latest confirmed opportunity.
