“Into the Wild” was the name of two different Pokémon GO events: the 2024 edition centered on Toxel, Eggs and raids, while the 2025 edition featured Dark- and Fairy-type encounters, Shadow Raids and a GO Pass. Both have ended. Here are the dates, Pokémon and ticket details for each edition, with historical offers clearly marked.
When was the Pokémon GO Into the Wild event?
There were two editions, and their schedules and features were different. All times below were local time; neither event is currently running.

What appeared in the 2024 event?
Wild encounters
The official announcement listed Ivysaur, Bellsprout, Weepinbell, Alolan Graveler, Magnemite, Magneton, Gastly, Haunter, Mareep, Flaaffy, Roselia, Gulpin, Luxio, Stunky, Whirlipede, Emolga, Foongus, Dedenne, Grubbin and Togedemaru in the wild. The announcement marked some encounters as potentially Shiny; a wild encounter did not guarantee a Shiny Pokémon.

Raids and Max Battles
Three-star raids featured Weepinbell, Haunter, Flaaffy and Charjabug. Five-star raid bosses rotated by day:
- November 19: Nihilego
- November 20: Tapu Koko
- November 21: Origin Forme Dialga
- November 22: Origin Forme Palkia
Dialga and Palkia caught after raids could know their signature Adventure Effect moves. The event also overlapped with Max Monday on November 18, featuring Dynamax Drilbur; Max Battles against Dynamax Drilbur that day had an increased chance of awarding Rare Candy XL.

Remote Raid limits were raised to 20 from November 18 through 21, then removed from November 22 through 24. Event Field Research and Collection Challenges offered themed encounters and rewards.
How Toxel worked
Toxel made its global Pokémon GO debut as a possible hatch from 10 km Eggs during the event. The announcement said Shiny Toxel might hatch for especially fortunate Trainers, not that it was guaranteed. The Hatch ticket increased the chance of hatching Toxel from 10 km Eggs, but the available announcement does not state a guaranteed hatch rate.

What appeared in the 2025 event?
Wild encounters and Max Battles
Wild encounters included Alolan Rattata, Sableye, Carvanha, Purrloin, Cottonee, Scraggy, Spritzee, Swirlix, Carbink, Nickit and Fidough. The announcement marked a subset as having a possible Shiny encounter. Max Battles featured Dynamax Ralts, Sableye and both Toxtricity forms.
Five-star raids
- November 10: Shadow Lugia and Shadow Ho-Oh
- November 11: Tapu Koko and Tapu Lele
- November 12: Dusk Mane Necrozma
- November 13: Tapu Bulu and Tapu Fini
- November 14: Dawn Wings Necrozma
After defeating Dusk Mane Necrozma or Dawn Wings Necrozma, Trainers could catch Necrozma and receive Solar Fusion Energy or Lunar Fusion Energy, respectively. Nature’s Madness was the featured Charged Attack for each of the four Tapu during its event appearance. A successful five-star raid catch also had a chance to come with a Special Background.

The Remote Raid limit was 30 from November 10 through 14 and was removed November 15 and 16. Trainers could also use a Charged TM to help a Shadow Pokémon forget Frustration during the event.

These were historical event offers, not tickets currently available to buy. The announced US prices were $5 for each 2024 ticket and $4.99 for the separate 2025 Ready for the Wild ticket; equivalent local pricing tiers could apply.

2024: choose by whether you wanted raids or hatching

Neither ticket was a universal better value: the listed bonuses favored different play styles, and the Toxel hatch was not guaranteed.
2025: free GO Pass or paid Deluxe upgrade
The 2025 GO Pass was a limited-time free progression track. GO Pass Deluxe was a paid upgrade with additional rewards, including a Silver Bottle Cap and an encounter with Shadow Darkrai. Separately, the Ready for the Wild ticket was listed at US$4.99 or the equivalent local tier. The announcement describes the Silver Bottle Cap as able to start Hyper Training for one stat on an eligible Good Buddy or higher. The item earned from the pass expired November 24, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. local time.
Those options made sense only for players interested in progressing through the event and claiming its rewards before their deadlines. The listed price and rewards are historical, not current purchase offers.
