Pokémon GO’s five-stage World of Wonders Special Research featured Poipole, with encounters, items, XP and Poipole Candy earned as you progressed. Its claim window ran from March 1 to June 1, 2024, using local time, and has ended; players cannot newly claim the quest now.
What was the World of Wonders Special Research?
World of Wonders was a seasonal Special Research line with five stages. Its parts unlocked during the season, and completing the tasks awarded Poipole encounters and Candy alongside other Pokémon encounters and items. The archived task-and-reward list below follows Leek Duck’s World of Wonders archive; Serebii’s archived listing records the same five-stage structure and many of the same values.

When could players claim the research?
The free Special Research was available to claim from March 1, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. until June 1, 2024, at 9:59 a.m. local time. Because that window is over, the listed quest is now a historical event rather than a quest new players can add to their account. Its stages were released over the course of the season.
Was the Wonder Ticket the same research?
No. The Wonder Ticket was a separate, paid offer for three Timed Research opportunities, not the five-stage Poipole-centered Special Research above. Niantic’s World of Wonders announcement listed the ticket at US$9.99 or the equivalent local pricing tier, with purchase available through June 1, 2024, at 9:59 a.m. local time. Those are past offer details, not a current price or way to unlock the free Special Research. The announcement also advertised two extra Premium Battle Passes for ticket purchases through the web store.

- Press and hold the central button on the Pokémon GO Plus + accessory and place it by your pillow to track your rest rhythm on the Pokémon Sleep app

Where archived task lists differ
Archived databases agree on the five-stage structure and the central Poipole rewards, but differ on some individual encounter labels and task wording. The stage list here follows Leek Duck’s archive rather than combining conflicting versions; Serebii also preserves an archived version, and Pokémon GO Hub’s season archive is another reference. The available listings do not explain why those entries differ, so a disputed row should not be treated as independently confirmed across every archive.
