Its main draws were Special Research leading to Giovanni and Shadow Groudon, Shadow Mewtwo in five-star Shadow Raids on March 30–31, increased Team GO Rocket appearances, and the chance to remove Frustration from Shadow Pokémon with a Charged TM. The research claim deadline lasted longer than the event, but it also passed in 2024.

The event ran from Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at 12:00 a.m. through Sunday, March 31, 2024, at 11:59 p.m. local time. It is a historical event, not a current calendar listing. Niantic’s announcement was published March 13, 2024.

How did the Giovanni and Shadow Groudon Special Research work?
A new Special Research story became available at the start of the event. Progressing through it awarded a Super Rocket Radar, which players could use to find Giovanni, who was associated with Shadow Groudon. The research had to be claimed by June 1, 2024, at 9:59 a.m. local time, the end of the World of Wonders season. That later claim deadline did not extend the event itself.
When was Shadow Mewtwo in raids?
Shadow Mewtwo returned to five-star Shadow Raids on Saturday, March 30, and Sunday, March 31, 2024, local time. The announcement specified the dates but not particular raid hours. Shadow Raikou was not part of this event. The official announcement has the event’s raid details.

What bonuses and Shadow Pokémon were featured?
Rocket encounters and Frustration
Team GO Rocket appeared more frequently at PokéStops and in balloons during the event. Players could use a Charged TM to help a Shadow Pokémon forget the Charged Attack Frustration. Niantic did not publish a numerical increase for Rocket appearances.

Wild encounters featured Murkrow, Sableye, Purrloin, Scraggy, and Inkay. Zorua, Vullaby, and Deino were listed as less common possibilities. The announcement did not give encounter odds.
What Pokémon were in 12 km Eggs?
The announced 12 km Egg pool included Larvitar, Sandile, Pawniard, Vullaby, Deino, Pancham, Salandit, and Varoom. Shiny Sandile could hatch if a player was lucky, but no hatch odds were published.

Free event Timed Research offered items and encounters with event-themed Pokémon. An optional paid Timed Research ticket cost US$2.00 or the equivalent local pricing tier and offered six Mysterious Components, one Super Incubator, one Rocket Radar, and a Pawniard encounter. Its shop ticket was available only until March 30, 2024, at 11:59 p.m. local time; research had to be completed and claimed by March 31 at 11:59 p.m. local time. Both deadlines have passed.
