Use Ground-type attackers and Ground-type moves against Xurkitree: its Electric typing makes Ground its relevant weakness. The Pokémon GO guide’s counter examples date to August 2022, so treat them as a starting point rather than a current ranking. Xurkitree’s live raid availability on October 8, 2026 is unconfirmed; check the in-game raid view or an official event announcement.
What is Xurkitree weak to?
Xurkitree is an Electric-type Ultra Beast, and Ground-type attacks are the matchup to exploit. Choose Pokémon that can use Ground-type Fast and Charged Attacks. Niantic also recommends super-effective attacks against raid bosses generally.
Which Pokémon should you use against Xurkitree?
The Pokémon Company’s guide, published August 23, 2022, names these Ground-attack options. This is a historical list, not a verified 2026 ranking.

Move availability and performance can change. Niantic has announced changes to raid attack damage, energy generation, and some move durations, so do not read the 2022 examples as a present-day DPS order. Build around the Ground-type Pokémon and moves you actually have; check current move and counter information in-game before investing resources.

How to approach the raid
- Use super-effective Ground attacks where possible.
- Bring other Trainers for a difficult raid. Niantic says higher raid difficulty tiers have stronger bosses and require more players for success, but the guidance reviewed does not establish a specific minimum party size for Xurkitree.
- Dodge Xurkitree’s Charged Attacks to reduce incoming damage.
- If your team faints, you can rejoin while the raid timer is still running without spending another Raid Pass.
How to catch Xurkitree after the raid
After a win, use the encounter’s Premier Balls carefully. The Pokémon Company’s guide recommends a Nanab Berry to steady Xurkitree’s movement and make throws more precise. A Silver Pinap Berry can award extra Xurkitree Candy if the catch succeeds. A Buddy at Great Buddy level or higher may use Catch Assist if Xurkitree deflects a ball.
The August 23, 2022 guide lists Xurkitree’s initial CP as 2,155–2,249, or 2,695–2,812 when weather-boosted. It lists Spark and Thunder Shock as Fast Attacks, and Dazzling Gleam, Discharge, Power Whip, and Thunder as Charged Attacks. These are figures and moves reported by that dated guide, not newly verified current game data.

Is Xurkitree in raids now?
Current availability for October 8, 2026 is unconfirmed by the official schedule sources reviewed. The latest located official appearances were regional Asia-Pacific events in July 2026: the Road of Legends event and a GO Fest Sunday raid window. Those past appearances do not show that Xurkitree is active now. Check the raid view in Pokémon GO or a current official event announcement before making plans.
