Released on October 16, 2026, it lets fans discover cards through moods, favorite characters, individual cards, or decks, then share the personal universes they create. The assigned “25,000” figure is headline framing; the site’s own description confirms only “more than 20,000” cards from the game’s 30-year history.
What Pokémon’s TCG Universe site is
The new experience is a visual discovery space rather than a conventional card database. Pokémon describes it in Japanese as: “ここは、ポケモンカードゲーム30年の歴史で登場した2万枚以上のカードが漂う、宇宙のような空間です。” The Pokémon Card Game official site is describing a universe-like space in which more than 20,000 cards released across 30 years of the game’s history float around.

Instead of asking users to type a card name and browse a catalog, the site builds connections between cards and presents a starting point for exploration. It is aimed at inspiration, nostalgia and sharing, not at replacing a collection inventory, price guide or rules database.
How to create a personal card universe
Visitors can begin in one of four ways. Each route changes the kind of recommendation and discovery path that follows.
#1 Best Overall
- 50+ Pokemon Cards
- 5 Holos Guaranteed minimium per order
- 1 GX, EX, V, VMax, Full Art, Tag Team, or Secret Rare
Mood
Choose an atmosphere such as cool or cute. The site then surfaces cards that fit that feeling, making this the broadest option for users who do not have a particular Pokémon or set in mind.
Favorite
Start with a favorite Pokémon or Supporter. This route is suited to fans who want a character-led collection of related artwork and appearances across the Trading Card Game’s history.
Rank #2
- The Pokémon TCG: Mega Evolution—Pitch Black Elite Trainer Box includes 9 Pokémon TCG: Mega Evolution—Pitch Black booster packs and 1 full-art foil promo card featuring Zarude.
- This also comes with 65 card sleeves, 40 Pokémon TCG Energy cards, and a player’s guide to the Mega Evolution—Pitch Black expansion.
- You will also get a competition-legal coin-flip die, 6 damage-counter dice, and a plastic coin.
- You will also find a collector’s box to hold everything, with 6 dividers to keep it organized and a code card for Pokémon Trading Card Game Live.
Card
Pick one card and follow the relationships the site builds around it. A single illustration, Pokémon or card era can become the anchor for finding visually or historically connected cards.

Use a deck as the starting point. The site says this route draws on more than 13 million historical deck records from the official Pokémon Card Game site to identify cards that have been used together. That makes the deck path the most explicitly data-driven option, connecting a chosen list to cards that appeared alongside it in recorded play.
Rank #3
- 50 assorted Pokemon cards
- Bundle with an LCC deck box that holds upto 100 Pokemon cards
- 1 Double rare legendary Pokemon card
How many cards are included?
The official anniversary page says “more than 20,000” cards from 30 years of Pokémon TCG history. The 25,000 number in the launch headline is not stated on that primary page, so it should not be treated as a confirmed exact total unless Pokémon later publishes an updated count. “More than 20,000” is the supported figure and also indicates that the catalog spans multiple generations, expansions and card eras rather than a single current release.
Sharing and exploring other universes
Created universes are not limited to the person who made them. Pokémon says users can share their finished universes with friends and family and freely explore universes made by one another. The social layer gives the site a different purpose from a private card checklist: a fan can build a theme, send it to someone else, and browse another person’s choices without starting from a blank search screen.
Rank #4
- Pokémon TCG: Mega Evolution—Pitch Black Booster Bundle contains six booster packs from Pokémon TCG: Mega Evolution—Pitch Black.
- This is a great option for getting into the new Choas Rising expansion.
- A great gift for the Pokémon collector or player in your life.
That sharing also makes the experience useful for group activities. Families can compare favorite Pokémon, collectors can show a themed selection without photographing every binder page, and players can present a deck-centered universe as a visual explanation of the cards they use together.
TCG Universe compared with ordinary card tools
| Capability | TCG Universe | Typical card database or collection tracker |
|---|---|---|
| Discovery method | Mood, favorite Pokémon or Supporter, a card, or a deck | Usually manual search, filters and user-entered collection data |
| Historical breadth | More than 20,000 cards covering the game’s 30-year history | Varies by service and may focus on searchable records or owned cards |
| Social sharing | Users can share created universes and explore others’ universes | May offer lists or profiles, but social exploration is not necessarily the core activity |
| Primary purpose | Inspiration, visual discovery and connection between cards | Inventory management, reference, pricing or deck administration |
| Deck relationships | Uses more than 13 million historical deck records to find cards used together | Often depends on manual deck entry or current legality filters |
Because the goals differ, the new site should be viewed as a complement to collection software rather than a replacement. It can help someone decide what to investigate or display; a tracker remains better suited to recording exactly which physical cards are owned, missing or duplicated.
What the site does not establish
- The official description does not confirm an exact 25,000-card total.
- The launch information does not present the experience as a marketplace, a card-pricing service or a complete collection-management system.
- The deck feature’s more than 13 million records describe historical deck data used for connections; that figure is not a promise that every record represents a unique deck or that every card is currently tournament-legal.
Storing cards discovered through the experience
Once a themed universe leads you to physical cards, a 9-pocket Pokémon TCG binder is the most direct companion for storing and displaying them. Nine-card pages make it easy to arrange a mood-based spread, keep a favorite Pokémon’s cards together or show a sequence discovered from one deck. Choose archival, side-loading pages when possible, keep the binder upright, and avoid overfilling pockets so cards are not bowed or pressed against the rings.
Why the launch matters for the anniversary
The project turns a 30-year card archive into an exploratory space rather than presenting the history as a static list. Its four entry points accommodate different kinds of fans: someone browsing by feeling, a collector following a favorite character, a player starting from a known card, and a deck builder interested in relationships established through historical play. The combination of a large archive, deck-record connections and user-to-user sharing gives the anniversary site a purpose that ordinary search-and-sort tools generally do not.
