The Pokémon Legends: Z-A starter question is settled: the official Pokémon website identifies Chikorita, Tepig, and Totodile as the Pokémon players may set off with. The earlier “starters may have leaked” framing described speculation, not confirmation from a leak.
Which starters are in Pokémon Legends: Z-A?
The official Pokémon Legends: Z-A Pokémon page asks, “Which Pokémon will you set off on your adventure with: Chikorita, Tepig, or Totodile?” It presents all three as first-partner choices. The page also says that befriending a partner Pokémon marks the beginning of the journey.

That official confirmation means the trio is not an unresolved leak mystery.
What was the starter leak rumor?
The rumor framing circulated before the official starter information was established. A MunchingOrange video published November 2, 2024 asked whether the Pokémon Legends: Z-A starters had leaked, in connection with speculation about Pokémon World Championships artwork. Its question documents that speculation existed; it does not establish that the artwork revealed the starters or authenticate a leak.
