This guide lists the Pokémon associated with each of Pokémon Legends: Z-A’s 20 numbered Wild Zones and when each zone becomes available in the story. The lists are a zone index, not a complete regional Pokédex: some Pokémon are found elsewhere in Lumiose City. They also do not provide exact spawn coordinates, and published zone rosters do not agree in every detail, so check the in-game map and Pokédex if an entry is missing.

How Wild Zone access and spawns work

Wild Zones unlock as you advance through Main Missions. The milestone below is the mission at which the zone is listed as available; it is not a separate requirement for every Pokémon in that zone. The official gameplay description says catching happens in Wild Zones during the day, while battle zones appear after night falls. Individual species may still have their own day-or-night spawn conditions.

For a missing Pokémon, first confirm the zone is unlocked, then check the time and look in less obvious parts of the area, including rooftops and courtyards. If a rare encounter does not appear, revisit the area after a refresh. PowerPyx reports that Zone 20’s two available Alpha encounters are randomized and can refresh after fast travel or resting on a bench outside a Pokémon Center; treat that as guide-reported behavior, not an official guarantee.

Wild Zone Pokémon by area

The following names and unlock milestones follow the Serebii Wild Zone index. These are species associated with each zone, not coordinate-level instructions or a guarantee that every listed Pokémon will appear at all times.

When a Pokémon is missing from the list or the map

Zone indexes are useful for narrowing down where to look, but they are not the same as a full Pokédex. PowerPyx’s full Pokédex guide covers 230 regular entries and notes that some Pokémon are found outside Wild Zones; it also lists 62 Mega Evolution entries. Those are the guide’s counts, not a current official count.

Pokémon Legends: Z-A Standard - Nintendo Switch [Digital Code]
  • Your journey will take you to all manner of sights in the streets arrayed around Prism Tower, including shops, restaurants, and places called wild zones—where Pokémon roam free.
  • As you catch, train, and battle Pokémon, there will be plenty of people to meet too—like AZ, the enigmatic owner of Hotel Z.

There is also a roster discrepancy: the Serebii index includes evolved forms and additional entries in several areas that are absent from PowerPyx’s displayed base lists. The available sources do not establish whether every difference reflects coverage conventions or a game update, so use the in-game Pokédex and map to resolve a disputed encounter rather than assuming either published roster is exhaustive.
