Pokémon Pokopia’s IKEA Island is no longer accessible. IKEA Japan’s limited-time collaboration ran in 2026: its in-store room displays ended May 10, and the in-game island closed June 30. The event linked a cloud island in Pokémon Pokopia with Pikachu- and Snorlax-inspired room designs in participating Japanese IKEA stores.
What was the Pokémon Pokopia IKEA crossover?
Announced by IKEA Japan on March 31, 2026, the collaboration marked IKEA Japan’s 20th anniversary and Pokémon’s 30th. It paired IKEA Island, a temporary cloud island in Pokémon Pokopia, with themed room displays in Japanese IKEA stores. During the campaign, visitors at participating stores could find the island address. IKEA Okayama was excluded from the store campaign.
Pokémon Pokopia is a Nintendo Switch 2 game released on March 5, 2026, according to The Pokémon Company. IKEA’s campaign page now identifies the promotion as ended; it is not a current way to visit an in-game island or attend a store event.
When did the island and store displays close?
| Part of the collaboration | Dates |
|---|---|
| IKEA store campaign and room displays | April 1–May 10, 2026 |
| In-store activity period | April 18–May 10, 2026 |
| IKEA Island access in Pokémon Pokopia | Through June 30, 2026 |
These dates applied to IKEA Japan’s campaign, not a global IKEA event. The island access period was longer than the store activity period, but both have ended.

What were the Pikachu and Snorlax room designs like?
IKEA designers created two distinct room concepts. Stores showed either both designs or one of them; they were room inspirations rather than evidence of exclusive Pokémon furniture.
| Room concept | Design and intended use |
|---|---|
| Pikachu-inspired | A forest-like, open space using children’s products and Swedish-style mushroom and leaf motifs. IKEA described it as a setting for socializing, resting, creativity and play. |
| Snorlax-inspired | A sleep-centered room with a dining table beside the bed and full-wall storage for everyday goods and food. Its soft blue-and-white palette evoked clouds. |
The campaign page suggested visitors could buy items matching those in the displays, but did not establish that they were exclusive collaboration products or part of a lasting Pokémon range. Specific products and current availability should be checked with IKEA before relying on them as recommendations.

What activities and offers were available at the time?
From April 18 through May 10, 2026, visitors could take part in a seven-stamp rally and keep the stamp sheet. IKEA Family members who made a qualifying single in-store purchase of ¥5,000 or more could receive a sticker and enter a prize draw for items including IKEA gift cards and original campaign goods.
The purchase offer excluded services, IKEA gift-card purchases, Swedish Bistro purchases, online orders and remote shopping. Sticker designs rotated and were available while supplies lasted. These were historical campaign terms, not offers available now.
