The Pokémon Presents broadcast on July 22, 2025, spotlighted Pokémon Legends: Z-A, introduced battle game Pokémon Champions and surprise release Pokémon Friends, and shared news about animation, events, PokéPark KANTO, and updates to existing games. This is a recap of what was announced then; preorder offers and release windows below are historical, not confirmation of current availability.
Pokémon Legends: Z-A was the headline game
The presentation revealed more of Pokémon Legends: Z-A, including Mega Dragonite and characters in Lumiose City. Its official July 22 game page pointed to a new trailer.
The game’s setting and core loop give the reveal more context: Lumiose City contains designated wild zones where players can explore and catch Pokémon. By day, players prepare their team; at night, they compete in the Z-A Royale. The official game page describes this day-and-night structure.
The broadcast also discussed the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition. Its official recap said physical preorders were available and described an early-purchase Ralts holding a Gardevoirite Mega Stone. A later Pokémon Center notice, dated July 30, 2025, said preorders had begun for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 editions, listed October 16, 2025 as the release date, and offered a randomly selected Pokémon Gallery Pin while supplies lasted. These are details of the 2025 announcement, not evidence that a bonus, listing, or stock is available now. Check a retailer’s current listing before buying.

Pokémon Champions and Pokémon Friends brought two different kinds of play
Pokémon Champions
Pokémon Champions was presented as a battle-focused game in which players recruit Pokémon and train them to suit a battle style. The recap mentioned three battle modes and two formats, and gave 2026 as its anticipated arrival window at the time. That window was an announcement-era plan, not a statement of current release status.
Pokémon Friends
Pokémon Friends was the surprise release. The presentation described it as a casual puzzle game for Nintendo Switch and iOS and Android. Players collect yarn and use it to craft Pokémon plushies in the game.

Animation announcements included new Concierge episodes and an Aardman project
The broadcast announced new episodes of Pokémon Concierge and Pokémon Tales: The Misadventures of Sirfetch’d & Pichu, a stop-motion project made with Aardman. The recap described the Aardman project as coming in 2027. These announcements do not establish current streaming availability or a current release date; consult an official listing for viewing or scheduling details.
Worlds and a planned attraction were also featured
A segment covered the 2025 Pokémon World Championships. The presentation also announced PokéPark KANTO, an amusement park attraction planned for Japan. The recap does not establish current event ticketing or attraction opening, operating, or ticket information.

Existing Pokémon games and apps appeared in the recap
The official recap included updates for Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet, the Pokémon Trading Card Game, Pokémon GO, Pokémon Masters EX, Pokémon UNITE, Pokémon Sleep, and Pokémon Café ReMix. The overview confirms those titles were part of the presentation, but does not establish the specific features or changes announced for each; consult the individual game’s official news for details.

The July 30, 2025 Pokémon Center notice named two physical editions of Pokémon Legends: Z-A: Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 Edition. It also gave the October 16, 2025 release date and described the Gallery Pin offer as randomly selected and available while supplies lasted. Those dates have passed, so the notice does not establish current price, stock, or bonus eligibility. Compare the edition with the console you own and check current retailer information before ordering.
