Pokémon Winds and Waves is the major reveal
The closing announcement introduced Pokémon Winds and Waves, the tenth-generation mainline games. They are planned for a global 2027 launch on Nintendo Switch 2; no more specific release date was given.
Early footage and coverage showed a tropical-looking region with contrasting biomes, towns built around water and resort-style imagery. Three starters were identified: Browt, Pombon and Gecqua. The presentation did not establish the region’s name, the games’ exact mechanics or a narrower 2027 launch window, so those details remain open.
Games arriving during 2026
Pokémon Champions: a new competitive focus
Pokémon Champions has an April 2026 release window on Nintendo Switch. A mobile version for iOS and Android is planned later in 2026, with no specific mobile date announced. The project is positioned around Pokémon battles, making it the clearest announcement for players who prioritize competitive play rather than exploration or collecting.
