This guide lists each species, its level, Tera Type and named area, with cave, climbing and encounter notes where relevant. The list is for Paldea, not the later DLC regions Kitakami or the Terarium. The location and encounter details follow iMore’s Paldea guide.
How to find and catch wild Tera Pokémon
Wild Tera Pokémon glow in the overworld, making them visible from a distance. According to iMore’s guide, published November 30, 2022, each stays at a fixed point until you approach, then moves around. The glow is not a sign that the Pokémon is Shiny.
Use the Rotom Phone map to check your position and nearby information, including towns, Pokémon Centers and wild Pokémon; Nintendo describes those map features in its announcement of the games’ release. For the final approach, follow the area and landmark notes in the list below. Some encounters are in caves or on elevated ground and may require more of Koraidon or Miraidon’s travel abilities.
Check each Pokémon’s listed level before starting the encounter and bring a suitable team and Poké Balls. iMore notes that a wild Tera Pokémon cannot be knocked out in one hit and can be caught after its Tera state is broken.

Why the listed Tera Type matters
A Pokémon’s Tera Type can differ from the types it normally has, so check the entry rather than assuming its usual matchup. Nintendo says Terastallization can increase the power of moves that match the Pokémon’s Tera Type, giving that type a tactical role in battle. See Nintendo’s explanation of Terastallization.
