For doubles teams built around Trick Room, a strong sourced example is Bloodmoon Ursaluna with a Modest nature, maximum HP and Special Attack, Assault Vest, and a mix of Normal, Ground, and Fairy attacks. Its low 52 base Speed supports the Trick Room role, while Blood Moon’s one-turn cooldown makes a second Normal attack important. This is a role-based set, not a claim that it is the best choice or legal in every current tournament format.
Recommended doubles Trick Room build
This build follows Game8’s doubles proposal. Its EV spread and moves are an example to adapt to the team and active ruleset, rather than a universal prescription.
| Slot | Choice | Why it fits |
|---|---|---|
| Ability | Mind’s Eye | Lets Normal- and Fighting-type moves hit Ghost Pokémon and prevents accuracy drops. |
| Nature | Modest (+Special Attack, −Attack) | Supports the set’s special attacks. |
| EVs | 252 HP / 252 Special Attack / 4 Special Defense | Emphasizes HP and special damage. |
| Item | Assault Vest | Game8 recommends it to bolster Ursaluna’s comparatively low Special Defense. |
| Moves | Blood Moon / Earth Power / Moonblast / Hyper Voice | Combines a high-powered signature attack with Ground and Fairy coverage and a second Normal attack. |
| Tera type | Choose for the format and team | The reviewed Game8 doubles set does not specify a Tera choice. |
How to use the moves together
- Blood Moon is the set’s signature Normal attack. It has 120 base power and 100 accuracy, but cannot be selected on consecutive turns. Plan to use another move on the next turn.
- Hyper Voice gives the set a second Normal-type option for that turn. With Mind’s Eye, Normal moves can hit Ghost Pokémon, which would ordinarily be immune to them.
- Earth Power supplies Ground coverage. Pokémon’s official feature specifically notes that it threatens Steel and Rock Pokémon that resist Normal attacks.
- Moonblast adds Fairy-type coverage, giving the set an option beyond its Normal and Ground attacks.
Why Trick Room suits Bloodmoon Ursaluna
Game8 reports base stats of 113 HP, 120 Defense, 135 Special Attack, 65 Special Defense, and 52 Speed. That profile combines strong special offense and physical bulk with low Speed, making Trick Room a natural team plan: under Trick Room, slower Pokémon generally move before faster ones within the same priority bracket.
The Pokémon Company describes its low Speed as a reason it can thrive in Trick Room and names Cresselia, Farigiraf, and Sinistcha as example partners. Those are examples, not a required core; choose a setter and supporting Pokémon that suit the rest of your team.

Typing, ability, and matchups
Bloodmoon Ursaluna is Ground/Normal. The official Pokédex lists Grass, Water, Ice, and Fighting as its weaknesses, so team support should account for those attacking types.
Mind’s Eye has two notable effects: Normal- and Fighting-type moves can hit Ghost Pokémon, and opposing accuracy drops do not affect the Pokémon as usual. The Pokédex also says the ability ignores changes to the opponent’s evasiveness. It does not mean every defensive ability or type-based immunity is ignored.

How to adapt the build to your format
Doubles with Trick Room
Keep the slow, bulky special-attacker concept if the team reliably establishes Trick Room. The Assault Vest set above is one sourced option. Confirm that the item, Pokémon, and moves are permitted under the rules you intend to play; the official Pokémon feature describes Regulation Set E, and the available build information does not establish legality or optimality under the active 2026 rules.
Singles or teams without Trick Room
Do not carry over the doubles EV spread and item automatically. Game8 lists Modest and Quiet as nature options, describes Normal Tera in its singles discussion, and includes Vacuum Wave among alternative coverage moves. These are possibilities to evaluate against your speed plan and matchups, not a ranked universal set.

Choosing an item and Tera type
Pokémon’s feature lists Leftovers, Life Orb, and Throat Spray as common held-item options in its competitive context. Assault Vest supports special bulk but is tied to a four-attack approach; Leftovers, Life Orb, and Throat Spray serve different team needs. Throat Spray pairs with sound moves such as Hyper Voice. Select a Tera type for the format and matchups you need to address; the reviewed doubles set does not provide a specific recommendation.

The official competitive feature is specifically about Regulation Set E, an older ruleset relative to October 2026. It supports the role and mechanics described here, but does not verify current tournament rules or metagame rankings. Check the active official regulations before bringing the set to an event.
