Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield have many items Pokémon can hold, from battle staples such as Leftovers to berries, type-boosting items, and species-specific gear. For the full, current wild-held-item list, see Serebii’s Sword and Shield held-items reference; it includes Pokémon that are not obtainable in these games, so an entry there does not mean you can catch that Pokémon in Sword or Shield.
Two meanings of “held items”
There are two useful ways to read a held-item list. A wild-held-item list shows items that particular Pokémon may be found holding. A broader item reference covers items Pokémon can hold and use for battle effects, whether or not they appear as wild-held drops. For descriptions and acquisition details, consult Serebii’s Sword and Shield items reference.
These lists are not a catalogue of everything in your bag: the focus is on items a Pokémon can hold. Also, an item’s appearance in a wild-held list does not establish that its associated Pokémon is available to catch in the games.
Examples of held-item effects

The table gives representative examples, not every held item. For the full range—including berries, type-boosting items, and other battle gear—use the linked game-specific item references.

New battle items and Dynamax
The official Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield Dynamax page names Room Service and Eject Pack as new battle items. It also says there is no need for a Pokémon to hold a special item to Dynamax. Dynamaxing therefore should not be confused with held-item activation: the official site’s description does not make a held item a prerequisite.

Use the broader items reference when you need an item’s effect and where to obtain it. Locations can be in the base game or expansion areas, so check the entry’s stated location and version context rather than assuming every listed pickup is available in every part of the game. Wild-held drops are a separate route and should not be used to infer that a listed Pokémon is catchable in Sword or Shield.
