DeNA’s October 30, 2024 announcement said Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket officially launched that day on both Google Play and the App Store. That is the original release date, not a new 2026 launch.

The Pokémon Company, Creatures Inc. and DeNA Co., Ltd. jointly developed the app. DeNA’s announcement describes it as an iOS and Android download; the game is not a physical Pokémon Trading Card Game product.
What is Pokémon TCG Pocket?
Pocket is a mobile game focused on collecting digital Pokémon cards and using them in shorter, smartphone-oriented battles. The Pokémon Company’s November 28, 2024 overview says players can open two five-card booster packs each day at no cost. The app includes newly created card artwork as well as art intended to evoke the history of Pokémon cards.

The Pokémon Company describes Pocket’s battles as using 20-card decks and taking about five minutes. Those figures are the company’s description of the format, not independent match-time testing.
Is Pokémon TCG Pocket free to play?
Basic gameplay is free to play, with some items available for purchase. The official Pokémon TCG Pocket website likewise describes the game as free-to-start with optional in-game purchases; that does not mean every feature or item is free.

Can every Android user download it?
The launch announcement confirms Google Play as an official storefront, but the official materials cited here do not establish availability for every country, Google Play account, or Android device. Check the game’s Google Play listing from the account and device you plan to use for current local availability and compatibility. The official game site says content and features may change.
