The official trailer gave the corresponding Pacific time as 11:00 p.m. PDT on April 29, which was April 30 in UTC. The expansion’s Solgaleo- and Lunala-themed digital packs drew on Alola, and limited-time in-app events offered Rayquaza ex promo cards.
When did Celestial Guardians release?
The Pokémon Company announced worldwide availability beginning April 30, 2025. Its official English trailer specified a launch at 11:00 p.m. PDT on April 29, 2025—a late-evening Pacific release that fell on April 30 in UTC. The trailer is on The Official Pokémon YouTube channel; the announcement’s release and event details were published on April 24, 2025, and reproduced in English by PocketMonsters.
This was an expansion for the digital game Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket, not a physical booster release. Its packs and event promos were in-app content.
What did the expansion add?
Solgaleo and Lunala pack themes
The two new digital booster packs featured the Legendary Pokémon Solgaleo and Lunala. The Pokémon Company described the expansion as bringing in Pokémon from the Alola region, as seen in Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon. New cards included the Alolan first-partner Pokémon Rowlet, Litten, and Popplio.

How many cards were in the set?
Specialist reference sources put the launch set at 239 cards: PokéBeach’s April 29, 2025 coverage reported 239, and Pokémon Zone’s A3 card-list page also lists 239. That is a reference count, rather than a total stated in the official announcement.
Rowlet-themed in-app cosmetics
The announcement also listed a Rowlet binder cover and display board as digital accessories available beginning May 1, 2025. They were cosmetic display items in the app, not physical binders or card-storage products.

How could players get Rayquaza ex?
Two separate, time-limited opportunities offered Rayquaza ex promo cards. Both windows have ended:
| In-app opportunity | Dates (UTC) | What it offered |
|---|---|---|
| Special solo battles | April 30, 2025, 06:00–May 13, 2025, 05:59 | Promo cards, including Rayquaza ex |
| Special missions | April 30, 2025, 06:00–May 29, 2025, 05:59 | A chance to receive another Rayquaza ex promo card and other rewards |
The dates and rewards were announced by The Pokémon Company. Because these were historical in-app events, they are not routes players can use now to earn those event rewards.
