The Pokémon Company International announced Mythical Island on December 12, 2024, and scheduled its launch for December 17, 2024. The date refers to the digital expansion for Pokémon TCG Pocket, not a future release. The official announcement identifies Pokémon TCG Pocket as a mobile game available on iOS and Android.
What did the Mythical Island expansion include?
Pokémon said the expansion features more than 80 cards. Its announcement specifies five new Pokémon ex cards and five new Trainer cards, and also calls out immersive cards.
The announcement highlighted Mew ex, Celebi ex, and Aerodactyl ex as featured cards. It was a release preview; it does not establish the cards’ current gameplay impact, competitive strength, or market value.

Was Mythical Island a physical Pokémon booster pack?
The announcement describes Mythical Island as an expansion for Pokémon TCG Pocket. It does not establish a corresponding physical trading-card booster product, so “expansion” is the precise term when referring to this release. A physical Pokémon TCG booster pack is a different product and is not identified as a way to access the Pocket expansion.
