How this Surging Sparks ranking works
Surging Sparks is an English Scarlet & Violet expansion released on November 8, 2024, according to The Pokémon Company International’s announcement. The prices below are TCG Vault’s report of TCGplayer market prices for Near Mint cards, dated October 7, 2026. They are market observations, not official Pokémon prices, guaranteed sale proceeds, or permanent values.
“Best” can mean different things to collectors and players. This is specifically a most-valuable-pulls list: collector number and rarity identify the exact printing, especially where a card name appears more than once. It is not a ranking of pull odds, artwork, or competitive performance.

What the ranking says about the chase cards
Pikachu ex has three distinct entries
The top spot belongs to Pikachu ex 238/191, but it is not the only Pikachu ex printing in the ten. The Hyper Rare 247/191 ranks fourth at $78.69, while the Ultra Rare 219/191 ranks eighth at $28.08 in the same October 7, 2026 snapshot. The name alone is not enough to identify or price the card: compare the collector number and rarity.
The top three are led by Special Illustration Rares
After Pikachu ex 238/191, Latias ex 239/191 is second at $186.63 and Milotic ex 237/191 is third at $114.37. Both are Special Illustration Rares. Special Illustration Rares also occupy ranks five, six, nine, and ten, while the list includes one Hyper Rare and one Illustration Rare.
Rank #2
- The Pokémon TCG: Scarlet & Violet—Surging Sparks Booster Bundle contains 6 Booster Packs from the new Surging Sparks expansion
- A great way to expand your collection of this new expansion
- A great gift idea for Pokemon fans.
Market value is not the same as playability
Pokémon’s official competitive coverage discusses a different lens. Its Surging Sparks competitive-card feature highlights Pikachu ex, Ceruledge ex, Latias ex, Magneton, and Counter Gain. It notes that Pikachu ex’s Topaz Bolt can be boosted with Pokémon Tool cards such as Maximum Belt and Defiance Band, or with the Gravity Mountain Stadium card. That strategy context does not explain or predict the card’s market price.
The official Surging Sparks set overview points to the set’s focus on Stellar Tera Pokémon ex and features Archaludon ex and Latias ex. Another official strategy feature examines Hydreigon ex, Sylveon ex, and Tatsugiri ex in a Triple Play. These are useful leads for players, but they are not a complete tournament tier list, and competitive attention should not be mistaken for collector value.

Should you open packs or buy a specific card?
Opening sealed packs is a chance-based way to collect; it does not guarantee any card on this list. If you want a particular printing, buying that single card lets you target its collector number and condition directly. Compare the exact version and current condition-adjusted listings rather than treating the dated snapshot as an offer or promise of what a card will sell for.
