The Pokémon Teraleak was a real security breach, but Game Freak’s confirmation of unauthorized server access did not verify the game plans or release dates circulated in leak coverage. Treat alleged projects and schedules as reports, then check them against public announcements: Pokémon Legends: Z-A and Pokémon Champions have official release information, while later reporting says Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves were revealed for 2027.
What did Game Freak confirm about the Teraleak?
Game Freak said unauthorized access to a server occurred in August 2024. Its notice, as reported at the time, acknowledged exposure of personal information relating to 2,606 employees and others, including names and company email addresses. That figure refers to personal-information cases—not the number of leaked game files.

The breach acknowledgment does not authenticate every file, codename, project description, or schedule attributed to the leak. Contemporary coverage cautioned that Game Freak had not confirmed the authenticity of the circulating game information. The reported contents should therefore be described as claims, not as an official Pokémon release calendar.
Which unannounced Pokémon games and dates were reported?
The available reporting establishes that purported internal materials and project claims circulated after the breach, but it does not establish a complete, authenticated list of leaked games. One specific schedule claim was reported later: materials allegedly pointed to a 2030 target for Generation 11. That is a leak claim, not a release commitment, and development plans can change.
#1 Best Overall
| Claim or title | What the reporting says | What is established |
|---|---|---|
| Generation 11 | Later coverage said leaked materials suggested a 2030 target. | The 2030 date remains a reported leak claim in the evidence available here; it is not an official release date. |
| Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves | TechRadar’s February 27, 2026 live coverage reported that the games had been revealed as Generation 10 titles with a 2027 window. | This is secondary coverage of a later public announcement. The source material here does not establish the exact platform or additional game details through an official announcement page. |
The later Winds and Waves report should not be used to authenticate unrelated files or schedules attributed to the 2024 breach. A title becoming public later does not establish that every earlier leak claim was accurate.

Rank #2
- The Pokémon TCG: Pokémon Day 2026 Collection includes 1 foil promo card featuring Pikachu with a Pokémon Day stamp.
- This also comes with 1 Pokémon coin.
- You will also receive 3 Pokémon TCG booster packs.
- Booster Packs May Vary from those pictured.
- Pokémon Legends: Z-A: The Pokémon Company announced the game on February 27, 2024, with a worldwide 2025 window for Nintendo Switch. Nintendo later listed it for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2, with October 16 availability and a Switch 2 bundle. A September 30, 2026 item on the official Pokémon Legends: Z-A news page listed a Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Mega Dimension bundle.
- Pokémon Champions: Nintendo’s August 18, 2025 announcement said the game was coming to Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, and mobile devices in 2026. It also said Champions would be used for the 2026 Pokémon Video Game Championships.
These announcements are useful comparisons with reported dates because they name a source and a public status. For any purchase, check whether a listing is for the Switch or Switch 2 edition; the existence of a Switch 2 bundle does not mean that bundle is required to get the Switch edition.
Quick Recap
How can you tell whether a leaked Pokémon game is confirmed?
- Look for a public announcement. Pokémon Support says: “All information regarding upcoming Pokémon titles will be posted at pokemon.com as soon as it is made public. We are unable to answer questions regarding titles that have not yet been announced on pokemon.com.” The statement was updated January 30, 2026.
- Check who is making the claim. A leak report, a secondary report of a public announcement, and an announcement from The Pokémon Company or Nintendo are different kinds of evidence. Attribute each claim accordingly.
- Check the date and specificity. A reported target year is not the same as a confirmed launch date, platform, edition, or availability listing.
- Recheck closer to release. The Z-A timeline shows why: its initial announcement gave a 2025 window, while Nintendo later listed an October 16 availability date and a Switch 2 option. Public release information can evolve after a first announcement.
