How did players get the research?
The Rise of Moonlight was associated with a Pokémon GO Fest 2024: Global ticket, not a free quest available to every player. Eligible players needed to play during the May 31–June 6, 2024 local-time event window. The exact ticket-purchase cutoff is described differently by the event guides, so a precise purchase date should not be treated as settled. Pokémon GO Hub, Serebii, and Leek Duck cover the ticket link and event window: Pokémon GO Hub, Serebii, and Leek Duck.
