Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves are the next announced Pokémon RPG entries. The Pokémon Company says both are planned to launch worldwide at the same time in 2027, exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2.
What are Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves?
They are two upcoming entries in the Pokémon RPG series, announced during the Pokémon Day 2026 Pokémon Presents. The Pokémon Company’s official recap, published February 27, 2026, identifies them as separate games and says they are Nintendo Switch 2 exclusives.
What do we know about their world and Pokémon?
The games are set in an open world described as a landscape of windswept islands and an ocean of waves. The announcement does not give the setting a region name.
The presentation also showed the main characters, two special Pikachu with a new look, and new first partner Pokémon. The official recap does not name the first partners, so their identities are not established by that announcement.

When do Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves come out?
The Pokémon Company says the games are planned for a global simultaneous launch in 2027. No exact release date is given in the announcement recap.
Which system will they be on?
Both games are announced as exclusive to Nintendo Switch 2. The cited announcement does not establish other platforms, preorder availability, prices, or physical editions.
