Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves’ alleged box legendaries have appeared in rumor coverage, but neither has been confirmed by The Pokémon Company. July 2026 reports attributed the claim to an X post by Light (@Light_88_) on June 30: a Garuda-inspired legendary for Winds and a Naga-like mermaid legendary for Waves. Those are reported inspirations, not established designs.
What the rumor says
La Razón reported on July 2, 2026, that Light’s June 30 X post described a Garuda-inspired legendary for Pokémon Winds and a Naga-like mermaid legendary for Pokémon Waves. Ei Nerd reported the alleged pair on July 1 and cautioned that Nintendo and Game Freak had not confirmed the images.

Both reports point to the same attributed social-media claim. They are not independent confirmation that the designs are genuine. The reporting supports only those broad alleged inspirations; it does not establish names, types, abilities, story roles, or further design details.

The Pokémon Company has announced Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves as new entries in the Pokémon video game series, exclusive to Nintendo Switch 2, with a simultaneous worldwide release in 2027. Its announcement describes an open world of windswept islands and a vast ocean, local ecosystems, and natural forces that can sometimes block the player’s path. Player outfits differ between versions.

How to read the claim
- Confirmed: The two games, their Nintendo Switch 2 exclusivity, the 2027 worldwide release window, and the announced details above.
- Reported rumor: The Garuda-inspired Winds legendary and Naga-like mermaid Waves legendary, attributed to Light’s June 30 post.
- Not established: Whether the alleged designs are authentic, or any additional information about the legendaries.
The confirmed islands-and-ocean setting does not validate the rumor. A setting that sounds compatible with an alleged design is not evidence that the design is official.

For confirmed game details, rely on announcements from The Pokémon Company or Nintendo rather than repeating the rumor as fact. The two July reports describe what was alleged online; they do not turn that allegation into an official reveal. If first-party materials later name or show the box legendaries, that would change their status.
