Which new Pokémon have been revealed?
The Pokémon Company announced Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves on February 27, 2026. Its announcement names three first partners and introduces two special Pikachu. The details below are those published by the company; the descriptions do not establish battle stats, evolutions, or evolution lines.
| Pokémon | Category and type | Ability | Height | Weight | Official description |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Browt | Bean Chick Pokémon; Grass | Overgrow | 1 foot (0.3 m) | 7.7 pounds (3.5 kg) | “This Pokémon runs about energetically while photosynthesizing using the leaves on its brow. It’s lively, but it can also be a bit clumsy.” |
| Pombon | Puppy Pokémon; Fire | Blaze | 1 foot 4 inches (0.4 m) | 14.8 pounds (6.7 kg) | “The area below its throat glows faintly from the heat-generating organ within its lungs. This Pokémon is guileless and friendly.” |
| Gecqua | Water Gecko Pokémon; Water | Torrent | 1 foot (0.3 m) | 9.5 pounds (4.3 kg) | “This Pokémon launches springy balls of water from its tail. Gecqua is very intelligent and maneuvers shrewdly while putting on airs.” |
These categories, types, abilities, measurements, and descriptions come from The Pokémon Company’s February 27, 2026 announcement. The published details support comparing their attributes, but do not say which partner is strongest or how any will perform in battle.
What are Mr. Windychu and Ms. Wavychu?
The announcement calls Mr. Windychu and Ms. Wavychu special Pikachu with a new look. It does not identify their story or gameplay roles. The official game website also says their involvement will be explained in a future announcement, so their significance remains unknown.

What is still unknown about the Pokémon roster?
The reveal does not confirm which other new species or returning Pokémon will appear in either game. It also does not establish the three partners’ evolutions, final forms, or any additional roster details. Treat Browt, Pombon, Gecqua, Mr. Windychu, and Ms. Wavychu as the Pokémon introduced in this announcement—not as the full roster.

Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves are planned for a simultaneous worldwide release in 2027, exclusively on Nintendo Switch 2. The announcement gives no launch month or day, and the official product listing names Nintendo Switch 2 as the platform.
