They are Grass-, Fire-, and Water-type, respectively. The announcement gives each a listed ability and species description, but not enough battle information to say which is strongest.
Who are the Pokémon Winds and Waves starters?
The Pokémon Company has introduced Browt, Pombon, and Gecqua as the games’ first partner Pokémon. The official game page lists their categories, types, measurements, abilities, and distinguishing traits:
| Pokémon | Category | Type | Height | Weight | Ability | Official description |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Browt | Bean Chick Pokémon | Grass | 0.3 m | 3.5 kg | Overgrow | Uses the leaves on its brow to photosynthesize. It is lively and sometimes clumsy. |
| Pombon | Puppy Pokémon | Fire | 0.4 m | 6.7 kg | Blaze | A heat-generating organ in its lungs makes the area below its throat glow faintly. It is guileless and friendly. |
| Gecqua | Water Gecko Pokémon | Water | 0.3 m | 4.3 kg | Torrent | Launches springy balls of water from its tail. It is intelligent and shrewd, though it puts on airs. |
These are the official names and details announced so far. The descriptions establish their bird, puppy, and gecko concepts, but do not confirm evolutions or additional types. The official Pokémon game page is the source for the listed species details.
Which starter should you choose?
There is no confirmed “best” starter yet. The announcement identifies each Pokémon’s type and ability, but it does not provide movesets, battle stats, evolution details, or a comparative account of how they perform in play. A ranking would therefore be speculation.
