The latest official Power Fist change is for its Deathwatch Heroic variant: in Patch 15, released October 1, 2026, its Melta Blast became chainable, and Focus Entertainment fixed an issue that prevented some weapon and class perks from affecting the attack. The notes do not provide a complete current stat sheet or unlock route, so older balance numbers should be treated as patch history, not live values.
What is the Power Fist in Space Marine 2?
The Power Fist is a melee weapon in Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2. The distinctive named version in the latest official notes is the Deathwatch Power Fist, a Heroic variant with a Melta Blast attack. Focus Entertainment’s Patch 15 notes identify the variant and its latest change: Patch Notes 15.0.
The Heroic Power Fist arrived among six Heroic weapons in Patch 14. Warhammer Community described it as a power fist mounting a meltagun and compared its appearance to Garran Branatar’s fist. Focus Entertainment’s Patch 14 notes list the additions; Warhammer Community’s update announcement gives the visual description.
What changed in Patch 15?
Focus Entertainment’s October 1, 2026 Patch 15 notes say the Deathwatch Power Fist’s Melta Blast “can now be chained.” They also say an issue was fixed where some weapon and class perks did not affect Melta Blast. That is the newest Power Fist-specific change located in the official notes. Check the current in-game perk descriptions and test the interactions relevant to your build, since the notes do not list every perk affected.

| Patch and date | Power Fist change documented by Focus Entertainment | How to interpret it |
|---|---|---|
| Patch 6, February 6, 2025 | Maximum hold-attack charge time was reduced from 3.9 seconds to 2.5 seconds. | A historical change; whether that exact value remains live is not established here. Focus said it aimed to make the weapon more practical by extending area damage and making charging easier. Patch Notes 6.0. |
| Patch 7, date not stated on the cited notes | Several Power Fist perks were revised, including a 10% melee-damage increase while armor remains, a follow-up attack after charged attacks, and reduced ranged damage taken while performing a heavy attack. | Check current in-game perk names and effects before using these as build instructions. 7.0 Patch Notes. |
| Patch 11, November 25, 2025 | The Heroic Power Fist’s light-attack damage bonus was increased to 200%, and its perk activation radius to 15 meters; a perk activation issue was also fixed. | These are historical Heroic-variant balance values, not confirmed current values. Patch Notes 11.0. |
| Patch 14, July 28, 2026 | Assault Ground Pound damage radii were adjusted for several weapons, including the Power Fist. The notes give a final outer radius of 3 after a partial reversion from the test build. | This is a Ground Pound radius, not the Power Fist’s general melee range or a damage statistic. Patch Notes 14.0. |
| Patch 15, October 1, 2026 | The Deathwatch Power Fist’s Melta Blast became chainable, and some weapon and class perk interactions with it were fixed. | The latest documented change; see the Patch 15 notes for the full context. Patch Notes 15.0. |
In Patch 6 commentary, Focus Entertainment called the Power Fist “one of the least popular melee weapons (despite being one of the coolest👊)” while explaining the adjustments. That is developer commentary from the 2025 patch context, not a measured player-popularity statistic.
Can you get it, and which classes can use it?
The cited official sources establish that the Heroic Power Fist was added in Patch 14 and that Patch 15 refers to its Deathwatch variant. They do not establish the current unlock route, the standard and Heroic versions’ complete availability requirements, or every class that can equip them. Consult the current in-game weapon and class menus for those details rather than relying on an outdated guide.

What are its current stats, and is there a best build?
The official notes cited here do not publish a complete current Power Fist stat table or enough current perk information to support a definitive build ranking. Patch values such as charge time, light-attack bonus, perk radius, and Ground Pound radius describe changes made at particular points in the game’s balance history; they should not be presented as today’s live values without confirmation in the current game.
For a practical build decision, inspect the current weapon stats and perk descriptions in your game version, then judge the weapon in the mode and class you intend to play. In particular, verify how the Deathwatch variant’s Melta Blast interacts with your selected weapon and class perks: Patch 15 fixed some interactions, but does not enumerate them all.
