Start from the nearby Rolling Crags Beacon, face the headquarters, and check the adjacent cliff for glowing mushrooms marking a gap you can drop into. The chest contains Hjilde’s Handy Hide. You can collect it without buying the map.
Where to find the Practical Pockets treasure in Avowed
- Travel to the Rolling Crags Beacon in Emerald Stair, near Ranger Headquarters.
- From the beacon, face Ranger Headquarters and search the nearby cliff area. The treasure is northeast of the headquarters, in a small opening in the cliff.
- Look for glowing or bioluminescent mushrooms near the opening. Drop into the gap and open the chest to collect Hjilde’s Handy Hide.
Guide directions describe the approach from different orientations: one points northeast of Ranger Headquarters, while another says to turn left when facing the tower from the beacon. Use both the headquarters and the nearby cliff as landmarks rather than relying on a left or right turn alone. GameSpot; PC Gamer
How to get the Practical Pockets map
If you want the side quest and its clue, buy the Practical Pockets map from The Gifted Magpie in Fior mes Ivérno. Windows Central identifies Ector Brewer as the vendor. The map is optional: you can go directly to the chest and claim its reward without purchasing it. The guides report different prices, so no single current price is established here.
