The video behind that claim is an April Fools item by creator Rob Charko; its YouTube description explicitly says “APRIL FOOLS! :)” and includes the hashtags #ign, #playstation, #aprilfools, #ps5 and #dualsense. PlayStation identifies its actual PS5 controller as the DualSense wireless controller.
What is Project Playmo?
Project Playmo is the subject of a video titled “PlayStation Announces Project Playmo” posted by Rob Charko, not a confirmed Sony Interactive Entertainment product announcement. The video’s own description discloses the joke: “APRIL FOOLS! :)” Watch the Project Playmo video on YouTube.
Sony Interactive Entertainment’s official news and press releases index and PlayStation’s controller pages do not corroborate Project Playmo as a Sony product. That does not prove that no similarly named project exists elsewhere; it means the available sources do not establish this as a real PlayStation controller.
What controller does PlayStation actually identify for PS5?
PlayStation’s product page identifies the DualSense wireless controller as its PS5 controller. PlayStation describes features including haptic feedback and adaptive triggers. Those are DualSense features, not verified specifications for Project Playmo.
