The lineup included two console bundles and three standalone accessories. Sony announced that 12,300 numbered PS5 Pro anniversary bundles would be made; that figure does not apply to every item in the collection.
What does the PS5 30th Anniversary Edition look like?
The collection’s gray, multicolor-button design was inspired by the original PlayStation, which launched on December 3, 1994. Sony described the anniversary products as carrying the original PlayStation design theme into current PS5 products. “Gray plastic” is a visual description, not a material specification: Sony did not state the plastic composition. Sony’s September 19, 2024 announcement explains the design inspiration.
What products were in the collection?
Sony announced five product types for the November 21, 2024 release:
- PlayStation 5 Pro Console – 30th Anniversary Limited Edition Bundle
- PlayStation 5 Digital Edition – 30th Anniversary Limited Edition Bundle
- Standalone PlayStation Portal Remote Player
- Standalone DualSense Edge wireless controller
- Standalone DualSense wireless controller
The 12,300-unit limit applied to the numbered PS5 Pro bundles, not to all five product types. Sony said each Pro bundle would have a limited-edition number etched on it, representing the month and day of the first PlayStation launch.

- DualSense Edge wireless controller and charging station
- Console cover for a disc drive; the disc drive itself was sold separately
- Vertical stand
- Controller-style cable connector housing

Sony said the console supports Wi-Fi 7 in territories where that standard is supported. That regional qualification matters: the announcement does not establish Wi-Fi 7 availability in every market.

When did the collection launch, and are the launch prices current?
Sony announced November 21, 2024 as the collection’s release date. That is a historical launch date, not evidence of stock today. The official announcement does not establish current retailer availability, resale prices, or the authenticity and condition of individual listings.

For context, Sony announced the standard PS5 Pro for November 7, 2024, at launch MSRPs of $699.99 USD, £699.99 GBP, €799.99 EUR, and ¥119,980 JPY including tax. These were launch-era prices, with regional pricing and taxes varying; they are not current October 2026 prices. The standard PS5 Pro had a 2TB SSD, a DualSense controller, and Astro’s Playroom pre-installed. Sony described it as a disc-less console, with a separately available disc drive as an option. Sony’s PS5 Pro announcement gives those launch details.

Because the launch information does not verify present-day listings, assess a specific offer on its own terms. Confirm the exact edition, what is physically included, and whether the seller’s description matches the bundle rather than a standalone accessory.
