The table reflects project descriptions and reporting available on October 4, 2026. Development changes quickly, so it is a snapshot rather than a compatibility guarantee.
How to choose an emulator for a specific game
For a useful comparison, look for a report on the exact game and build you intend to use. Results are not interchangeable across titles or emulator versions.
- Find the exact title in current compatibility information. KytyPS5 links community results from its project page. Treat a boot, a few rendered frames, a menu, and sustained gameplay as different outcomes.
- Match the reported build. Record the emulator version or build used in the report and compare it with the build you plan to run. KytyPS5 warns that compatibility, stability, and performance can vary between versions.
- Check the operating system. Distinguish a project’s advertised or intended platform from a tested platform and from a platform where a game is playable. In particular, KytyPS5 calls macOS experimental; the original Kyty README lists Windows 10 x64.
- Look for stability evidence, not just a demonstration. Check whether the report reaches gameplay and remains there, and whether it mentions crashes or graphical problems. A short video or frame-rate figure alone does not establish typical results across games or PCs.
- Expect troubleshooting. These are active or experimental projects; behavior may change across builds, and crashes or visual glitches are possible.
Can you play PS5 games on an emulator yet?
Some projects report booting or rendering selected software, and current reporting describes Kyty demonstrations that reached real-time gameplay. That is evidence of progress, not evidence that PS5 games are broadly or dependably playable on PC. The available claims do not establish a general level of compatibility across commercial games, nor do they make one game’s result a prediction for another.

What PC specs do you need?
No universal minimum PC specification or guaranteed target frame rate is established by the sources compared here. There is also no controlled cross-game benchmark in this evidence from which to infer a reliable hardware threshold. Check the operating-system information and game-specific reports for the project and build you are considering; do not use an isolated performance demonstration as a system requirement.
Do you need a PlayStation controller?
No controller is established as a requirement for emulation. Sony documents connecting a DualSense controller to a Windows 10 or Windows 11 PC by Bluetooth or USB, while noting that features depend on the device and game. That Windows connection guidance does not guarantee that a particular emulator supports the controller or all its features. What should you know about game files?
The KytyPS5 README says the project is not affiliated with Sony Interactive Entertainment or PlayStation, does not distribute games or copyrighted system software, and directs users to use legally obtained game files. Those statements describe the project’s position; they are not jurisdiction-specific legal advice about every way of obtaining or using files.
