The numbers are attributed to hardware leaker KeplerL2 in a TechRadar report; they are not official specifications. Microsoft has separately described Helix’s broad goals, including support for Xbox and PC games, without announcing a TFLOPS figure.
What are the leaked PS6 and Xbox Helix specs?
TechRadar reported on 24 September 2026 that hardware leaker KeplerL2 claimed the chips had “taped out” and estimated graphics performance at about 40 TFLOPS for PS6 and 56 TFLOPS for Xbox Helix. The report attributes the claim to KeplerL2 via VideoCardz; Sony and Microsoft have not confirmed the figures. Read TechRadar’s report.
Subtracting the rumored estimates gives a 16 TFLOPS difference, with Helix’s estimate 40% higher than the PS6 estimate. That is arithmetic based on unverified figures—not a measured performance gap or a complete comparison of the consoles.
Does the TFLOPS gap mean Helix will run games better?
Not by itself. TFLOPS is one theoretical indicator of graphics processing, and TechRadar notes that architecture and memory bandwidth also affect performance. A higher rumored TFLOPS number does not establish better frame rates, image quality, or game visuals. No comparable, confirmed game-performance results are available in the cited reporting.

What has Microsoft publicly said about Project Helix?
Separate from the leak, Microsoft has publicly discussed Helix’s general direction. Engadget’s account of Microsoft’s GDC 2026 presentation says the system will play Xbox console games and PC games, use a custom AMD system-on-chip, and support ray tracing and path tracing. The presentation did not provide a TFLOPS figure, according to Engadget. Read Engadget’s report.
Engadget reported that Xbox vice-president of next generation Jason Ronald said, “We’re sending alpha versions of Project Helix to developers starting in 2027.” This is a reported developer-hardware milestone, not a consumer release date. Windows Central also reported Helix’s custom AMD chip and PC-game compatibility after the March 2026 GDC presentation; its account describes presentation details, not a finalized retail specification. Have Sony or Microsoft confirmed the leaked specifications?
No official PS6 specification was located, and Microsoft’s public Helix information does not confirm the 56 TFLOPS estimate. The 40 and 56 TFLOPS numbers should therefore be described as leak claims attributed to KeplerL2, not as specifications announced by either company. The exact IGN India Podcast Clips item named in the headline could not be located, so its precise wording and sourcing cannot be verified.
When will PS6 and Xbox Helix be released?
The cited information establishes no consumer release date for either console. The reported 2027 timing applies to Project Helix alpha versions going to developers, not retail availability. The available reporting also does not establish a Helix retail price or final memory configuration.

What remains unknown about the comparison?
The leak offers only one proposed metric. A meaningful console comparison would also need confirmed details about architecture, memory capacity and bandwidth, ray-tracing performance, upscaling, frame generation, game access, price, and launch timing. Most of those details are not established for both systems, so a full PS6-versus-Helix specification table would imply more certainty than the evidence supports.
