Second closed alpha: June 2026
The official Steam announcement said the second closed alpha ran from June 26 through June 29, 2026, on PC via Steam. Access went to selected players, with additional access rolling out by region. The PUBG: Black Budget team wrote, “Every match you play helps us refine the game on our road to launch.” That statement described the team’s aim for that test; it does not confirm a launch date. Can you play it now, and is it still in development?
The official test windows cited here have ended. Their announcements do not establish that a current build is playable, that another test is planned, or that the game has a confirmed retail release. An October 2026 Reddit post titled “PUBG: Black Budget Development Update” says it reposts an official Discord message and quotes a decision to end development. Because the primary Discord announcement has not been independently verified, treat the development-ending claim as reported rather than confirmed. Reddit repost
Accordingly, the most reliable answer is that the documented alpha opportunities are over; current availability and the project’s final status are not established by the official historical test announcements. Do not rely on old sign-up or access notices as proof that a build remains open.

What the preview can—and cannot—tell you
The preview-era concept combined exploration and discovery with the pressure of survival and player-versus-player encounters. The remote island, time loop, and Anomaly offered a distinctive setting for an extraction game, but the available material does not establish how those ideas would develop across a complete release. Nor does it support claims about final performance, balance, monetization, or the game’s eventual platform and launch plans.
