PUBG MOBILE Version 4.0 launched on September 4, 2025, with the limited-time Halloween mode Spooky Soiree. That mode was scheduled to end on November 5, 2025, at 05:59 Japan time, so it should not be treated as currently playable in October 2026. The official event page has an APK download entry, but it does not establish that the old 4.0 installer is still available. For the current game, use an official store or the publisher’s download route and check the version shown before installing.
What PUBG MOBILE 4.0 added
Version 4.0 combined a seasonal Halloween event with other gameplay and editor updates. The most visible seasonal addition was Spooky Soiree, a haunted-house-themed mode, while the Mortar, Unfail, Metro Royale Chapter 28, and WOW 1.0 broadened the update beyond Halloween. KRAFTON Japan announced the update on September 4, 2025, and identified Android and iOS as supported platforms. KRAFTON Japan’s announcement described the game as free to play with in-app purchases.
What was Spooky Soiree?
Spooky Soiree added supernatural activities and a companion to matches on Erangel, Livik, and Rondo. Availability and details varied by map, so the feature list was not identical everywhere. The mode’s scheduled run was from the Version 4.0 update on September 4 through November 5, 2025, at 05:59 Japan time. A later official notice said a bug let the unranked mode continue on Livik and Rondo after its scheduled close; the issue was corrected following a November 6, 2025 update. That notice does not establish what is playable in later builds. The official Japan patch notes and issue notice document the mechanics and exceptions.
Ghostie, the companion
Ghostie followed the player and could assist in combat. Players collected and leveled skills during a match, equipping one active skill and two passive skills. Examples included a floating balloon, a protective shield, armor repair, a helmet effect against headshot damage, enemy scanning, a speed boost, and healing. Ghostie was normally visible only to its owner, but became visible to others when a skill activated. Skill availability differed by map.

Mystery Mansion and match events
Mystery Mansion appeared at two locations across the supported maps, including one on Livik, and did not appear on Rondo. Its loot and interactive elements included Ghost Treasure chests: after a match timer elapsed, opening one dropped supplies and scanned the surrounding area for approaching enemies. A magic mirror could help revive a teammate, subject to a limit per match.
Other activities included hidden ghosts that dropped supplies when found and attacked, and ghost concerts that could provide supplies and periodically scan for nearby enemies. Not all activities appeared on every map; Rondo, for example, excluded some ghosts and the concert.

Flying broom
The two-seat flying broom offered faster travel and two skills. While riding it, players could not shoot or loot, making it a mobility option rather than a way to fight or collect items on the move.
Other major Version 4.0 features
Mortar
The Mortar was a lightweight weapon carried by one player, occupying the pistol slot and using special explosive ammunition. Players could aim at visible targets or select an area on the map beyond their line of sight. The global Version 4.0 event page highlights the weapon.

Unfail, Metro Royale, and lobby updates
- Unfail: an asymmetric 1-versus-4 pursuit-and-escape mode.
- Metro Royale Chapter 28: a new chapter with seasonal collectibles. PUBG MOBILE listed its season as September 5, 2025, at 02:00 UTC through November 4, 2025, at 00:00 UTC; this is a historical schedule, not a current season.
- Lobby 1v1 challenges: players could challenge teammates to a duel from the lobby.
- Full-gear loadout: a loadout option let players purchase and equip a complete gear set.
- Ghost Crates: randomly scattered crates added another supply opportunity.
The update also expanded editor availability with WOW 1.0. The publisher’s global update overview summarizes these additions. KRAFTON Japan’s September 2025 release said the game had surpassed 1 billion downloads worldwide; that is a company-reported historical figure, not a current total.

The global Version 4.0 event page includes an “APK download” entry, but that alone does not confirm the link still serves the original 4.0 build. Avoid assuming an old version is available or installing an APK from an unofficial repository. To get the current game, use the publisher’s official download route or the official app store listing for your platform, then verify the version displayed before installation. Regional availability and the latest build can vary, so check the listing presented to you.

If you specifically need an older build for a legitimate reason, the reviewed official materials do not confirm that a Version 4.0 package remains downloadable. Do not treat an event-page entry as proof that it does.
